It's so ******* ****** that this had to occur two weeks before Christmas. Most of these kids probably already had at least half of their presents already wrapped and those boxes now are sitting, waiting for them under the tree, never to be opened again.

I'm not normally one to feel deep sorrow for these kinds of news events, but these were children, goddamnit. ******* kids. Some no more than 10 years at the oldest. I don't even like kids that much to begin with and yet I can't even bring myself to joke about what's just happened. This is just horrible.

When I think about the parents of the 18 children killed at this horrible incident in Newtown, Connecticut this morning, I can’t help but cry. Those parents rushed to the school to pick up their children and bring them home to safety, only to watch other parents find their children while they waited to be told their children wouldn’t be coming out. Those parents will have to live with the pain o
f knowing their young children went to school like any other morning but will never be coming home again. Those parents will have to go home and see their child’s bedroom, knowing they won’t be tucking them in and giving them goodnight kisses anymore. Those parents will have to unwrap and return all the Christmas gifts they bought their children, knowing they were only a few days away from seeing the joy on their children’s faces when they opened them.

My heart just feels so heavy thinking of the sorrow they will have to live with every day. I can’t even imagine how devastating this must be, and I can only hope that I will never have to know the pain of losing a child in my own life. My thoughts go out to those parents who had to experience it today.

That's all I have to say on the shooting.

That's one of the first things I thought about. I can't imagine how depressing it must be as a parent to see those presents hiding at the bottom of your closet, having to take them out knowing you will never see your child again.

All of the parents ran to the school to get their children. 20 had to be told that their children did not survive. Those kids had their whole lives ahead of them and now they do not. It's just sad beyond belief.

I was at work when I heard the news. The TV in the break room always plays CNN and I was in there eating my sammich and it started talking about it and my manager came in and we both watched it, my break was only 20 minutes but we ended up watching it for almost an hour. She started crying and I felt sick. Usually stories on the news don't phase me but he shot kids with an automatic assault rifle because of some ******** with his mom...Little kids who meant no harm to him. Little kids who didn't deserve it. I swear we need some better gun regulations, I don't want them illegal but better controlled. I don't understand this world sometimes.

**** like this wouldn't happen if there were no guns at all but I don't want that. I just want smarter, well trained, police officers to be the only people allowed to carry them in a holster. I want a police officer at every school to be the guy to protect our children, not you dumb rednecks who think you're John Wayne. A guy came into work with a glock on his belt looking for his wife who was a manager. I asked if he was a cop and he said no so I avoided that guy for the rest of the day. He was fat, bald and he looked like he was not fast at all. He looked like he'd be the first to be killed in this situation. Plus automatic weapons are so easy to get it's disgusting.

as long as there are idiots out there, or a chance for someone to just snap, things like this will happen. It is sad, yes, but unfortunately it is the world we live in, and I don't see it getting any better. We constantly find new ways to harm each other, yet no one finds a way to protect each other. This world is already too far gone, and all we can do is sit, wait, and hope for the best.

I agree there is no saving this world. Some people care more about their guns than they do the safety of others. 20 children and 8 of their teachers and school staff were massacred yesterday. For no reason other than some dick lock had a grudge against his mom. I know people are going to get pissed at me and say "Hurr durr guns don't kill people, people with guns kill people." believe it or not, most of the shootings actually happen with guns that aren't registered. Its those who buy them off the streets, or find a friend or family members gun that end up doing this, and all everyone else see's is an easy dollar to be made.

Although, chances are, I might snap one day and go crazy. I have aspergers so I get the creepy thoughts (the social shyness/fear is what keeps most from doing anything bad) and my bloodline seems to have a lot of killers in it. If I do go crazy though, I promise no kids will be hurt, only those who I think deserve to die.

2nd of all...if a principal or a teacher had a concealed carry, and of course knew how to ******* shoot and not have any chance of endangering the kids, it would have ended so ******* quickly. instead the guy just walked right in without any resistance.

Everyone wants to be a hero, that guy was wearing Kevlar under his shirt how do you know the principal would have killed him. To tell you the truth I'd trust a police officer with a gun a lot more than some hick with a concealed weapons permit. If I was a cop I'd prefer if every civilian around me wasn't armed, how could I tell who was the shooter and who is a civilian when everyone around me is holding a pistol? He stole these weapons.

Okay well The Principal was executed. Even if he had a gun the guy would have killed him before he could have whipped his out. The guy executed The Principal and The Counselor before he started the rampage. More guns is not the answer, you think you're going to be a hero. You have your gun out and you kill the guy, cops arrive and see a bunch of dead kids and you holding a gun. They know that this guy has already killed 20 people surrender may not be an option. How do you know the cops will know you're not the shooter. What if they shot you then found out later? Whoops looks like you're dead because you watch too many John Wayne and James Bond to know better.

Hey I'm, I'm pointing out the flaws in your argument. I know Kevlar wouldn't protect from everything but what if it did? There is a lot of factors you have to put into it. Trust me I don't like arguing about this I own a gun too but 20 preschoolers died yesterday. My little brother is in preschool I had a dream last night where that happened at his school. I woke up really scared okay? I may not like kids but they don't deserve that. I just hate it when people think they're Han Solo or John Wayne and can out shoot someone who has a gun on them already. what if one lucky teacher with a weapon saved the day?

Sure, it might not have been able to save any of those kids, but there would've at least been a slightly higher chance of saving even one of them if ANY of the adults in that school carried. And that's all i'd want. Even a slightly better chance to protect those kids.

Wouldn't you want to try to do anything to make sure your brother is safer?

Okay hear this, you just took the shooter out who killed a bunch of preschoolers. You think you're a hero. Cool whatever, but I'm a cop and I walk into this building full of dead kids and I look up and see you with a gun I'M GOING TO DROP YOU. Do you not get that? That **** happens all the time. You think your reflexes are that good? Your gun is useless when a guy has his gun locked and loaded on you unless you have yours on him first. They thought this guy was there to visit his mom. They let him in and he executed them before his rampage. If the principal had a gun he was executed before he could have been able to pull it. You think that won't happen to you just because you think you're John Wayne? Sadly mistaken my friend. My grandpa was a cop and he said he almost killed a tweeker who was going insane because he reached into his jacket to grab his wallet and he shot him in the shoulder thinking he was reaching for a gun. i personally believe he should be tortured for 27 lifetimes. or perhaps 1 lifetime for every person that must suffer from the death of a loved one... sandy hook is a very small, close knit community and the atmosphere in connecticut right now is reminiscent of when the petit murders took place

when people go on mass killing sprees they always take the easy way out and kill themselves. they're too much of a pussy to actually deal with what they have done

If we were to put one person to death soon we would put other to death. The standards for the death penalty would soon decrease and even people with minor crimes would be killed.

As bad as this sounds there are people who have committed worse crimes who are alive.

It's also fake because the shooter lived in New Jersey. Not Connecticut.

Yes but he lived with his father in New Jersey. He went to the elementary school where his mother worked and she was one of the victims.

I don't get it. Why would they protest the funerals of little kids that were not related to the military or homosexuals?
