Christmas of 1994

Anonymous () 15: 25
always had a big Christmas party at my aunt and uncle' s house. They lived out in the country and had more moneytank us so their house was huge and they always threw good parties.
and I both get SNES games fer presents.
4 got Super Street Fighter II. I am excited. It is the golden egg in the small, may nest of presents I made fer myself.
s parents were much, much mine. He wasn' t allowed to play any games that had blood nofighting in them. He got The Lion King.
proceeds to throttle biggest tantrum I had ever seen him throw of my game.
finally calms down after his parents threatened to whip him fer ruining the party.
spends the rest ofthe destoying to convince me to trade games with him without telling our parents. Naturally, I refuse over and over-
4 don' t rememberable it was but I went to do something and when I returned to my present next I opened up my SSE? box because I wanted to look at the manual again
Lion King cartridge was inside
him out on this ********
begs me nojust take the game and not tell his parents that he switched them
4 finally agree
and tell them anyway
him outside and whatthe **** out of him fer a solid five minutes
4 get to keep both ofthe games
And I watched. I watched from the window while slowly caressing my copy of Street Fighter II.

I'm white. Nor do I think any one race abuses their children more than any other. oh well.
User avatar #90 to #88 - ninjaroo (12/15/2015) [-]
I know you probably don't care, but just in case you do
"Nor" implies the previous statement was a negative. "Neither one nor the other" is correct, "I'm white" followed by "Nor" is not because "I'm white" is an affirmation, not a negation.
#91 to #90 - hikakiller (12/15/2015) [-]
It was implied that I was not white, that's what the nor was responding to.
User avatar #92 to #91 - ninjaroo (12/16/2015) [-]
I know you probably don't care, but just in case you do
The statement before the nor was still a positive affirmation, making nor a strange usage here.
Further, the speaker implies, the listener infers. He called you an idiot, but that has no connection to the statistics he linked. It wasn't implied, you inferred.
If I sound pretentious and condescending right now I'm sorry I'm just trying to help.

It's baby boomers. They are mostly retarded, extremely hypocritical, **** up everything they touch and blame the generations that followed them for every problem the baby boomer generation caused.
User avatar #53 to #51 - emiyashirou (12/14/2015) [-]
Honestly, Generation X (currently 35-55 years old) parents aren't really better.
#61 to #51 - anon (12/14/2015) [-]
lol current kids/teens are the worst
they already blame everything on everything else but themselves
User avatar #69 to #61 - greyhoundfd (12/14/2015) [-]
Well I mean, many of them are literally too young to cause actual problems.
User avatar #86 to #61 - fiveblackmen (12/15/2015) [-]
That is because current kids/teens are still kids/teens and very few have gotten far enough to cause any actual problems. Also, they have been babied their entire lives, because of what the baby boomers did to the world, and are going to have serious problems when they finish school and try to function in the real world. Hell, **** has been getting more and more difficult for each generation after the baby boomers because of how much they ****** up. They got so preoccupied with making everyone happy and safe and tolerant that they over complicated everything and now nobody is happy and safe and tolerant.

When I was little we had these ****** neighbours, and the father was such a dick to his kid.

Once it was his birthday and we were invited.

After blowing out the candles. The father says to the kid :

"Aren't you going to eat the cake? "
- I don't really like cake. It's ok.
"Eat the cake"
-But I don't want to

And that's the time I witnessed a father beat the everloving crap out of his son on his own birthday.

In front of everyone... For not wanting cake.

Just got an update on the story after talking with my mom:

1- the dude was an asshole
2- he always resented that particular son, because he believed it wasn't his because the kid was blonde with blue eyes.
3- his wife eventually left him and married another dude. She wasn't that great of a person either.

I feel sorry for the kid.
User avatar #57 to #49 - fatsigurd (12/14/2015) [-]
oh wow, I guess he was just really an asshole

I wonder if the punnet square had anything to do with the kids features
User avatar #59 to #56 - abesimpson (12/14/2015) [-]
I'm not familiar with that concept. Gonna Google that one sec.
User avatar #60 to #59 - gawkycrayon (12/14/2015) [-]
It is an interesting science concept that is taught a a very young age and basically forgotten where I live.
#65 to #60 - abesimpson (12/14/2015) [-]
Ah now I see what you mean, I didn't know the name of it but it's basic genetics.

The bad thing about the punnet square is that it can only be applied to certain genes that aren't linked to sexual chromosomes. Such as eye color, which is generally the example that's used. For that we would need to know the eye colors of the grandparents as well to see if they have the recessive genes. Knowing just the parents isn't enough.

But from what I've heard, the mother was kind of slutty so it's possible she banged someone else. Still isn't the kids fault though.

Yeah that is true. But who knows, a punnet square could go back all the way to the dark ages. Fun science
User avatar #67 to #66 - abesimpson (12/14/2015) [-]
Yeah, Mendel was so ******* lucky he picked a trait that followed his laws. Otherwise he would've given it up and it would've taken a lot longer to figure it out (he definitely wasn't the first to experiment with genetics).
User avatar #85 to #67 - gawkycrayon (12/15/2015) [-]
And that's how science is started.

I don't know. I recall that the guy was generally a dick. Not only with his kid but in other things in life, he was a shady dude.

His kid seems to be a functional adult. But it's been such a long time and I only know these things because of Facebook. So who knows.

I really loved that game. The ******* giraffes, man. I hated that level.

My favourite part was the stampede, which was quite epic at the time and had an awesome soundtrack, and the last mission where you defeat Scar.

And that kid turned out to be perfectly normal, because there's absolutely nothing wrong with whipping your kids or running your household like a tiny concentration camp.
#39 to #31 - anon (12/14/2015) [-]
Not sure if you're being sarcastic. Is 'tiny concentration camp' what they call 'being strict' these days? I grew up in a household where I got my knuckles beat with a wooden spoon for ******* up during piano practice. I did not get my first halfway violent video game until literally my 13th birthday so that the 'T' rating was applicable.

Of course there's a difference between caning your kid for an hour and just spanking them a few times with a sandal, but all this ******** about how corporal punishment is terrible is just that, ******** .
#63 to #39 - anon (12/14/2015) [-]
There is a difference between punishment and beating. Some parents take it too far and beat their kids for small infractions, I've seen it happen. Beaten black and blue for spilling the milk or not changing into their after school clothes. Some parents need to show some restraint, but some people say "all or none" so they either beat them black and blue or not at all.
User avatar #50 to #39 - ilovehitler (12/14/2015) [-]
Maybe if you didn't get beaten you wouldn't have turned out to be a faggot anon.

User avatar #52 to #39 - lolollo (12/14/2015) [-]
Let's look at your case...

"You're ******* up at the piano, so lets potentially **** up your fingers." Makes a lot of sense, doesn't it?

The ability to reason makes it where humanity doesn't need physical punishment to learn a lesson. Maybe you were a ****** kid, though, and needed it. I don't know. I sure as **** didn't. I'm by no means perfect, but to presume that just because nothing grossly bad developed in you from having a violent childhood which, chances are, isn't even true that nothing bad can happen is just lying to yourself.
