They didn't assemble due to gay bashing (at least not the majority of them.) The gathering was to support the first amendment right to free speech because the media jumped on the CEO for saying what he thought about gay marriage.

So what if we don't agree with what one man who runs a business thinks? it's his right to say what he wants to say as is your right to speak against his thoughts and beliefs, that's what makes America great.

I have absolutely no problem with gay marriage, if you found someone you're willing to spend the rest of your life with, it shouldn't matter if they're a man or a woman. The only thing I don't like about some gays is that they HAVE to tell you that they're gay, just like vegans, but not all of them are like that, just a select few. I do love Chick Fil-A, though, those fries are fucking fantastic.

I really want to go to CFA, order a sandwich, and someone from both sides of this story come up to ask me what I think of it. And I can look them straight in the eye and say, "You know, I really don't give a fuck, I just want to eat my damn sandwich."

I've never been to Chick-fil-a because Washington is practically Starbucks territory, I've only seen one Chick-fil-a and it's too far to just drive out there to eat, but at my local grocery store there is a Starbucks inside the store and then there is another one just outside attached to the same parking lot .
