Jesus was friends with the people that everyone hated, the scum of the earth. If you wanna be like Jesus, you have to befriend your enemies and try to get them to see from your point of view and accept them even if they don't.

To be like Hitler you'd have to be able to unite an entire country against a common enemy, nearly take over an entire continent and make one poor decision that destroys everything you worked towards.

In fact the invasion on Russia started in summer and he thought he can take Moscow before winter come. Also, the whole thing was scheduled to start in spring, but hey, Mussolini tried to take Greece and of course screwed up badly. Third Reich was really a reliable ally, as they delayed invading Russia just to help take some strategically insignificant country. It bit them in the ass later, as we all know.

I dislike that people on this site continually give credit to idiots like Hitler. Saying he made one bad decision is like saying that a drunk who wandered through a china store, and only knocks over the several thousand dollar object until the middle which proceeded to continue to knock over everything only made "one bad decision". No, they made a whole chain of bad decisions, but there was only one point that resulted in the destruction of everything. The only reason one thinks that it might be "one bad decision" is because they managed to drunkenly stumble between the aisles for a period of time.

In Hitler's case it could have gone wrong every step of the way, from Rhineland, to Czechoslovakia, to Polish campaign period, to Battle of France. All of them could easily have resulted in the destruction of the German armies with a simple chain of events; luck was with them and not with the enemies, but it was not just "one bad call that led to the destruction of Germany".

... Were you going to reference any actual occasions it could have "all gone wrong"?

I agree no single decision led to their destruction, but painting them as bumbling fools, stumbling through on blind luck? Be fair

1. Rhineland. If Gamelin hadn't based his estimates on a worst case scenario and mobilization not being necessary, France might have counter-attacked, and knocked off German from the start.
2. Czechoslovakia. The German Generals actually had plans for overthrowing Hitler in some quarters, and if it hadn't been for Mussolini the Germans would have invaded Czechoslovakia on schedule - with probable Soviet intervention, and entirely possibly Western support for Czechs.
3. Poland. The Western Allies did plan to launch an offensive, but the speed of the German attacks prevented it due to the belief it wouldn't have been successful. With a slightly more aggressive French leadership and a heavier resistance amongst the polish army - which sent out confused mobilization orders for one - then the Rhineland might have been occupied.
4. France, a move to the Eschaut plan alone would have prevented a 1940 collapse, and in time destruction of Nazi Germany.

There were a bunch of things Hitler got wrong that individually might not have mattered:
>Filled his high ranking positions with yes-men and fanatics
>gave the allied troops still in france during his initial attack time to flee to Britain by turning his attention to Russia
>Attacking Russia before finishing the fight on the western front of Europe creating a war on two fronts
>Attacking Russia in Winter Everyone who has done this got ****** in the ass by the 12 foot cock of Russia's winter
>Trying to make the big military decisions himself instead of listening to the competent generals (worked ok at first but later he paid the price)
> Didn't shoot Mussolini and take control of Italy himself Mussolini was the allies greatest ally because of how ******* incompetent he was

also attacking us Brits, he could have easily obliterated or seriously damaged our military capabilities, But he went na screw it imma attack civilian areas to force them to surrender !

Of course even a few hours of freedom from bombing airfields and factories gave us extra planes and time to fend them off. He Had ample oppotunity to really hamper our war effort but we just dug our heels in and fought them off because he gave us time to do so

Well the thing with Russia (Operation Barbarossa) was the following idea.
If Germany keeps expanding in Europe Russia wouldn't just watch, it would also prepare for an war against Germany. It would have mobilized all its troops on the lines to Germany and build up big defense and also offense forces. An attack from Russia or Germany itself wouldn't end well for Germany.

To prevent this situation Operation Barbarossa was considered to quickly cutting off the head, taking over Moscow in a short time. he he...cow

The Problem was that the German troops has spent to much time for reaching Moscow , It was planned that he Germans reach Stalingrad a long time before the winter, a long time before the reinforcements come to get us. The plan failed because the Germans get to much resistance and the weather didn't help at all. The plan was never to attack a big army in the winter, the German troops was just poorly prepared for the Blitzkrieg against Soviet Russia.

After reading a book. "Stalingrad" I learned that while they attacked Russia in summer (Around may) they were sure they'd be done by winter, and for a while, it seemed like it.
In fact, Stalin was shaking in his panties once he realised he actually was being attacked.
He played the few starting weeks of the invasion off as "Germany being silly" and having a ******, poorly trained military, he had no reason to be confident.
What they did have, was a huge country, lots of open, weather exposed land, few places to shelter, a cold as **** winter, and a seemingly endless amount of soldiers.
Skill and training lost out to poorly prepared troops for the winter, and the tenacity of russian soldiers, who simply kept coming, and never retreated. Morale deteriorated sharply, because the russians refused to give up until they were all dead.

Initially they were going for Moscow, but somewhere along the line, Hitler had the idea that he would cross the Volga, and take the Caucasus mountain range, due to the abundance of natural resources, like Oil.
So the germans were ordered to shift their attention towards Stalingrad, effectively stopping them from killing the russian leader, who was rather defenseless at the time. The attack on Stalingrad and the road leading up to it gave Russia time to gather their **** up and mount a very effective counter offensive, which eventually exhausted Germany's strength at Stalingrad. The flow of soldiers just never stemmed, and they got crushed.

well aside from his atrocious military set up that often left the commanders confused about who had control over what and who to report to (a structure designed to give no one absolute power over the military except hitler). If I remember correctly he tried several times to deport Jews out of the slums he put them in so he could just be rid of the scape goat he used to unite a country on the verge of Economic and patriotic collapse.

Ah yes, fighting fire with fire - the one way to overcome almost any handicap. See, arguing with a moron is like playing chess with a pigeon - no matter how good of a player you are, it's just going to knock over some pieces, **** on the board and strut around, acting like it won. In order to win, you must beat it at its' own game. You must **** on the pigeon.

Hitler was a social justice warrior in his own sense of what a society should be like.

even though he had one of the worst goals known to man, i gotta admit, he was a pretty good leader form what ive heard of. take away all leaders overall goals, and hitler is probably ranked one of the best leaders out there.

Oh, most certainly. Say what you will about his ideals, but he was an effective leader.

Hate to say, but, if he was a great leader, we would've seen more STGs and FGs in the hands of the Wehrmacht, at the least.

Oh yeah, aside from the whole holocaust thing, Hitler was amazing.

It's just not something you can really sweep under the rug.

I'd say the 12 million people who were exterminated would consider him a villain

Did they win?
