A bouncer (also known as a doorman, door supervisor or cooler) is an informal term for a type of security guard, employed at venues such as bars, nightclubs or concerts to provide security, check legal age, to refuse entry for intoxication, aggressive behavior or non-compliance with statutory or establishment rules. Bouncers are often required where crowd size, clientele or alcohol consumption may make arguments or fights a possibility, or where the threat or presence of criminal gang activity is high.

In the United States, civil liability and court costs related to the use of force by bouncers are "the highest preventable loss found within the [bar] industry", as many United States bouncers are often taken to court and other countries have similar problems of excessive force. In many countries, federal or state governments have taken steps to professionalise the industry by requiring bouncers to have training, licensing, and a criminal records background check.

I can confirm this, I'm a fat guy (not landwhale type) and I've taken roided bouncer punchs to the face and laughed it off telling him he was a failure...
he eventually got tired of punching me and I just told him to "keep up the good work".
Got a black eye the day after that actually hurted when touched.
Also I have years of taking punches from my also huge brother so I can take punches from non professionals easy.
I've also fought 5vs1 fights and "won" (without hurting anyone, I'm not a violent person)

ALL fat people are strong.
Think about it, how strong would you be if you were permanently lifting an extra 100-200 pounds just to walk?

You've got to be careful, sometimes fat doesn't mean out of shape. Now you take the strongest man in shape, and the strongest fat man, and the one whos fit will probably win a fight, but there are some people out there who have serious muscle under their flab and just don't eat well. I remember a few years back I made the mistake of picking a fight with this guy who worked at my station, he was being an ass and stealing from the fridge, wouldn't pull his weight or do his chores (not really a mistake of picking the fight, he deserved it) the guy was at least 300 pounds. But my god could he throw a punch. It took two of us to stop the guy and kick him out.

Reminds me of something that happened years ago. A local martial arts club came to promote itself in our school. They had this big demonstration, where some of their best students fight and do cool **** . At the end they wanted to demonstrate some moves on us and asked for a volunteer. They picked me, since the 2-meter tall, 100-kilo ( 6'6 and 200lbs for the imperial scum ) 16-yearold sort of sticks out in a crowd. I guess they wanted to demonstrate how martial arts overcome physical limitations or some **** , because they matched me with the scrawniest blackbelt I have ever seen. He was probably 30cm ( a foot ) shorter than me and half my weight. He asked me to punch him. I've seen enough movies to know what that means - he was gonna try that move where he flips you over his shoulders and you end up flat on your ass. I wasn't having none of that, so I lightly pretended to punch him and the second he moved, I shifted my weight back, so he couldn't flip me. He spent a good 45 seconds just pulling on my arm, while everyone was laughing at him. Then he gave up and ran off somewhere. They say his ego and manhood shrunk 3 sizes that day.

my friends dad looks like a pretty typical guy with a beer gut but he has been working as a security guard for some 20-30 years and he will get your ass pinned down in seconds if he so wishes it

Big dudes make great bouncers.

when I was really little my dad worked as a bouncer at a local bar and my mom was a bartender there as well. Some of the stories they've told me about that bar have given me a sensible chuckle

I find I have no problem with fat people if they are not a useless lazy **** ,

take George R R Martin, sure he's fat but he gave us some great books and later on that gave birth to a fantastic tv series. not saying a athletic person is not capable of doing the same.

if you have a talent or skill then it's not such a problem if you're fat, it's not a good thing to be fat but if you're not completely uselees waste of space then it's a step in the right direction. you can always work on losing weight later.

Knowing the internet, I'm probably astronomically wrong but that's my 2 cents.

That makes sense, you don't hate fat people, you hate lazy people. The problem is that the two go hand in hand more often than not.

Basically, bodybuilder's look strong but aren't as strong as some big guy who doesn't look as impressive, but has more muscle mass.

Never underestimate fat guys.
Apparently my dad used to be a bouncer, there wasn't much to bounce
