As someone who is interested in taking beekeeping as a hobby I had to look that up. Often the old queen is still around just hanging about while the new queen is there up until some point where she is indeed getting rid off. The only case where queens will be stright up murdered is when there are multiple new queens fighting for succession.

>decide to do more comedy oriented videos to gain subz
>get semi popular for 2011
>all the while be browsing /b/
>/b/ had a new queen called 'tabby', but she was very new and still had some users weary
>decide to take one of her videos and do a parody of it
>make a few ****** jokes, one was about anal rape
>go to florida for vacation
>come back three days later to a banned account
>apparently tabbys mother seen the video and asked me to take it down
>since i had no cell phone back then, i wasn't able to check email
>3 emails in 3 days , each getting more forceful for me to take the video down
>since i didn't read them, she reported my account for child abuse
>they actually took my account down
>all those views and subscribers, gone
>go to /b/ with my rage
>explain what happened
>people actually get mad at tabby and her mother
>full on info search takes place
>gained email addresses, phone numbers, places of work, schools, boyfriends infos, her parents info, everything
>mfw they ordered pizzas to her house and did prank calls all night
>mfw they turned on their new queen for a random user

to this day i still have all the info they gathered on her.
