There are drive through liquor stores? What else are you doing to promote DUI?

I drink and drive In Mexico it's an amazing thing they call the Oxxo a weboxxo. the name comes from Weba (lazy in rude spanish) and the oxxo. quick store that sells pretty much anything. I drive around drinking dos XX or Tecate and since it's a drive thru in the weboxo just 2 or 3 per city. I ask for more beer, since u driving they sell immediately. the drinking age as well as the driving in Mexico is 18.

Se escribe hueva. Además, ¿dónde chingados le dicen así al Oxxo y por qué?

The only time I went to Mexico was to visit a friend.

Immediately after leaving the airport in Mexico city I saw two people riding on top of a bed mattress that was strapped to the roof of a car.

Mexico. Not even once.

Dude 95% of people who buy alcohol drive home with it in their car, buying it at a drive through doesn't change **** .
#147 to #55 - wakingeyes (09/26/2015) [-]
It's about the minority that would drink and drive. For them, it's neccesary to keep cars and alcohol as far apart as possible. For instance, where I live it's forbidden to sell alcohol at gas stations for this purpose.

Gee whiz, there's a parking lot at a liquor store? What else are you doing to promote DUI?
User avatar #35 to #1 - sooshishef (09/25/2015) [-]
You aren't the brightest bulb eh?
#148 to #35 - wakingeyes (09/26/2015) [-]
are you going to comment on my statement?
User avatar #149 to #148 - sooshishef (09/27/2015) [-]
I think I just did. I called you dumb because you figure that driving up to a window to buy alcohol is promoting drinking and driving, but you somehow don't realize that you need to drive to the store to walk in and buy the alcohol.
#150 to #149 - wakingeyes (09/27/2015) [-]
How many people that order food at a drive through drive it all the way home before consuming it? Yes, I think that the less gifted people (like those that go directly for ad hominem arguments in a discussion) are more tempted to drink and drive when alcohol is so readily available from behind the wheel, compared to people who buy some booze along with their regular groceries. It's about the context.
User avatar #151 to #150 - sooshishef (09/27/2015) [-]
You can't buy alcohol with regular groceries. It's sold at liquor stores. You can only buy beers and wines of varying types at grocery stores. Hard liquor isn't sold in them (there's a law of I'm not mistaken).

As far as consuming fast food while driving vs consuming alcohol while driving, you're comparing apples to oranges. Fast food and driving is not illegal. Drinking alcohol and driving is. If you eat food and drive in a manner that is dangerous and harmful to others or yourself, you could be arrested. That would be considered distracted or dangerous driving.
#153 to #151 - wakingeyes (09/27/2015) [-]
About the groceries: where I live, liquor stores are never too far from supermarkets so that people can visit both in one go.

And I'm not saying that eating while driving is illegal, I'm saying that I think some people may be more tempted to drink when alcohol is as easily obtainable as a big mac.

But hey, thats what I think.
User avatar #154 to #153 - sooshishef (09/27/2015) [-]
I understand, but my point, and the point everyone else made, was that if you drive to a liquor store and walk in to buy alcohol vs using a drive through window it might have, in both scenarios you have to drive away. Why would one make you more tempted to drink and drive than the other?

Wouldn't a drive through imply that they have their drivers licence?
Meaning they're full of age?
Oh wait. Heavy stuff isn't allowed till 21 in the states, right?
Drivers licence from what age on? 18? 16?
User avatar #30 to #29 - zombifier (09/25/2015) [-]
16 to drive
21 to drink

can have permit at 14
#44 to #31 - anon (09/25/2015) [-]
I heard you can get it before you're 16 but you have to be emancipated and have a job too. So you're life already sucks and a license won't make it much better lol.
User avatar #68 to #44 - alarubra ONLINE (09/25/2015) [-]
There's also something called a hardship license you can get at 14, if you need to work to help support you family. Same kinda thing but no need to be emancipated.
User avatar #39 to #31 - needsauceadmisblan (09/25/2015) [-]
14 no ******* way. it is 15.
i mean i know it can varie from state to state but why get a permit at 14 if you need two years to get your licence.
unless they have a wait longer than 9 months to get it after the permint.
User avatar #57 to #39 - slayzo (09/25/2015) [-]
You can get it at 14 here in Arkansas.

You have to drive home with the booze anyway. When you buy it in the store it's safe to assume you won't drink it on the way home, a drivethru is not that different.
User avatar #11 to #1 - lean ONLINE (09/25/2015) [-]
Some states have drive through bar windows. If there is no open container law, the driver can have a drink with them as long as they are not intoxicated. 11 states don't have these laws, and surprisingly enough there is no correlation between dui arrest rates and this law.
#47 to #11 - anon (09/25/2015) [-]
Yeah. It's kind of a dumb law. Who gets wasted in their car? You get wasted then you try going somewhere else by driving your car. Simple.
#5 to #1 - madb (09/25/2015) [-]
park my car outside and and get my liqour. get back in my car and drive off.
you think thats okay

dont have to park my car and get my liqour. drive off
