Though this is one of these dumb 'signals'...
Why not be direct?
"Wanna **** ?"
"Yes."
It's as easy as that.

Exactly.

If I'm not gonna dance around the word sex for the sake of god knows why, what makes you think I'm going to hide the fact that I watch My Little Pony?

Y'know, in my opinion, guys call people out for acting effeminately so they can feel more masculine themselves. A real man knows he's a man, and than no amount of pink ponies and frilly tea parties will ever change that.

Its one thing to hide what you watch, its another thing to build your persona around it.

Is MLP really the only thing that you enjoy in life, so much so that you restrict yourself to pony-related imagery on FJ?

bronywiseman, please understand.
You are in the presence of children. They don't respond to things like reason.
They respond to edgyness (dick girls, 911 jokes), Puns, and the latest popular things,
( John One Star Fallout Punch museum wars 7 Cena).

Fj operates on edge . So it was once weird to like ponies, that caught on well here.
then they become so popular, it was weird to hate them. And now they latched on to that.

User avatar #68 to #60 - djmaryhikineet (01/05/2016) [-]
It only became popular b/c of the nice guy fallacy and irony. The show isn't anything of note outside of bronies and the popularity over a young girl show. The animation is standard and the story i don't know but it's not notable enough for people to talk about it and get a gist of the shows plot. Most bronies renounced the whole thing b/c of this.

I dont think a real man needs pink ponies and frilly tea parties. If you have a daughter who likes those things and you go a long and wear a dress at a tea party, thats one thing. If youre a grown ass man and you are the one playing with ponies and having a tea party, theres something deeply ****** up in your head. As a man, why feel the need to act like a little girl?
User avatar #111 to #75 - shunkahawolf (01/05/2016) [-]

"Why not be direct? It's as easy as that"

The line "hey, lets **** " is only foolproof for 9/10+ girls. Even then, nothing is foolproof.

You need signals. That's why you don't approach every single attractive girl you meet and offer her your cock immediately. Because it isn't that easy.
User avatar #30 to #15 - alarubra (01/05/2016) [-]
But, that's not what happened here. They were friends. She obviously had some clue he liked her. There were signals involved in the early stages. But, eventually you hit the point where it's best to be direct. Inviting someone over to your place to bone for instance...
#31 to #30 - sexuality (01/05/2016) [-]
I'm near certain that, had OP shown up alone, as he was invited, the direct invitation to bone would come shortly after he showed up.

That's when you be direct, when you're alone and have a physical place. OP never gave the girl a chance to be direct, because the poor guy brought a friend along.

Consider you had a friend who was hot and you'd bang, if given the opportunity. Have her in your head? Good. Now, two scenarios:
1. You're both alone in your apartment.
2. You're both with a single other friend.

Which would you rather, realistically, suggest sex during?

TL;DR - Directness has it's place, but, overall hooking up is never "as easy as saying 'wanna **** ?'"
User avatar #32 to #31 - alarubra (01/05/2016) [-]
I ****** my girlfriend while our room mate watched because he couldn't take a hint to get out of our room. If I want sex, another person being there will not stop me from at least bringing it up. Also, I know from personal experience that sometimes it is in fact that easy.
#33 to #32 - sexuality (01/05/2016) [-]
Yeah, I've ****** an easy girl too. But we're on FJ. So I'm going to go ahead and lower the hookup bar than where I have it for my fellow college students.

In reality, for the most part, sex is harder to get than "Hey let's **** ." That's my argument.

Are there exceptions? Obviously. But I'm not going to get into a sex-pissing match with you. All I'm saying is for the most part, sex isn't that easy. And it's stupid to declare it as such.
User avatar #34 to #33 - alarubra (01/05/2016) [-]
Just because she responds to directness doesn't mean she's easy. We were friends for a good long while, an had flirted back and forth, but it never went anywhere. Eventually, I got tired of the ******** , and just straight up asked. We ****** , dated for a while, and eventually broke up. And that's the kind of situation in the original post, except in my story someone was direct, and **** got done. Is it always that simple? No. Do I think it should be? Yes.
#85 to #32 - anon (01/05/2016) [-]

You seem not to know a whole lot about female psychology so let me enlighten you.
For most women (except the dominant kind) it's a turn off to have to be blunt and direct. First off she wants to know that you're smart/experienced enough to get a signal because she knows that means you've done this before as opposed to being a clueless idiot, secondly if she invites you over for another reason and you happen to have sex then she doesn't feel like a slut for just inviting some randomish guy over for sex.

Granted most women probably wouldn't tell you this, but for the most part it's true.

Kinda why they always do these stupid "hints" instead of just coming out and telling the guy they like that they want their pusspuss stuffed by him.

It sucks for dense guys like me cause i figure out that **** ages after it happens and by that time they've either lost interest or found a different guy

Guys...this isn't that ******* obvious. Girls ask guys to move **** all the time with no intention of sex. Helping move a bed isn't one of those "socially widespread codes for sex" like "come up for coffee" and "Netflix and chill" is. Y'all ************* could get asked to meet a girl's new boyfriend and think its code for sex, and then you wonder why you're all so goddamn awkward around women.

Yes, this specific case was about sex, but what clues were he supposed to work with, using the knowledge he would have had before the event, to conclude she wanted sex?
User avatar #88 to #54 - toosexyforyou (01/05/2016) [-]
Everything you said is true so showing up to her place with a friend couldn't have been avoided but it shouldn't have taken more than a day to wonder if she was about to make a move on you when you walk into her room and she looks disappointed and only has you moving the bed 10 inches. Then, he could have messaged her back apologizing and recovered.

Me. Because I drink so much that it doesn't really keep me awake anymore.
If I drink like 3-4 of them one after another (and I usually go without sugar and 2xespresso shots in one coffee) I would just feel sick - not awake, just agitated.
Coffee doesn't wake me up, sunlight does. Seriously, it has almost the same effect like apple juice on me.
