I didn't hate it, but it wasn't pleasant either. There's no reason I would have any desire to do it in the future. It does help that I'm poor though, so I couldn't keep up the habit even if I wanted to.

My mother was a heavy smoker, and when I was about 5 years old, I kept bugging her about letting me have a cigarette. She finally got sick of my constant pestering and handed me her cigarette. I tried it. I inhaled. Deeply.

One of the smartest things my mother has ever done, because after that, I never never never wanted to touch a cigarette again.

I tried smoking, just to try it, I wasn't real interested in it. Smoking is not all that great. So I just never did it again, I never felt I wanted to.

Candy though, candy is ******* delicious.

I'm currently in the process of quitting after almost four years. I never got bad enough to where I was a pack a day. Most I've done was a pack a week. But it's ******* difficult, dude. The withdrawal screwed up my anxiety and made me irritable as ****. And even though I see how it's affected me and know what'll I'll have to go through if I try too quit again, I still wanna keep smoking. One month and a half clean, though!

I've been smoking a pack to a pack and a half a day for four years. I've tried quitting several times and have yet to succeed. It may not have been hard for you, but everyone is different. I've gone for three weeks without a single cigarette and ended up caving. Quitting smoking is one of the hardest things I've tried to do.

not that i smoke but have you ever been addicted to something? it's not that easy no matter what you think. When people say it's just a matter of putting it down and stopping they don't realize that doing that really screws with your body and mind and that relief is just a pack away. If he's at a pack a day quitting would be a long drawn out process that's really hard on him.

tl;dr it is actually quite hard

It honestly varies from person to person, as most things do. My dad used to be a smoker but one day he decided to quit and never ended up smoking another cigarette.

I smoked a pack a day for over a year and then decided i was done and stopped. i went through some withdrawl (headaches, irritability, trouble sleeping etc. etc.) but i just didn't let myself have any and i quit. It isn't even a habit anymore. I still bum the occasional cig from my friend if everybody is smoking at a party but that usually isn't more than once a month and its not because I need it its because i enjoy it. If you decide you're going to quit it isn't even hard at all, you just have to make the decision to do it.

I grew up in a house full of drug addicts, smokers, and drunks. Best D.A.R.E program I've ever had and now I have no intention of touching substances of any kind. Especially cigarettes. **** makes my asthma act up.
