For those of you speculating if the developers of WinRar have even made a single dime - due to the very obvious no-pay loophole - I can almost guarantee that they most certainly have.
Some guy a couple months ago explained to me, how companies seeking to use the software will always buy the licensed versions, since it is much easier to track unlicensed use when dealing with much bigger companies, making them look less professional and they could potentially be sued if they were discovered.
TL;DR: The developers of WinRar make their money off of companies, rather than private persons.
I just saved you from a quick Google-search.

What is WinRar exactly?
#9 to #8 - taurusguy (12/12/2013) [-]
Because it always asks you to buy it saying that the trial is over but you can just click close. I personally downloaded 7zip a while back, i like it a lot more.
The reason it is so noteworthy is because nobody actually buys it, maybe 2 or 3 people have actually bought the damn thing.

File extracting service that says "you should buy it" but the free trial never really runs out of time.

All around useful, I suggest you download it.
