My professor/mentor discovered he had an eighteen year old son that he never knew about, and the court ordered him to pay for the kid's schooling, books, and housing until he graduated. The government cracks down hard on men. On the other hand, my mom hasn't paid a dime of my child support since I was 3 (now 21), totaling up to over $100K she owes me, and the court would never do anything.

TL;DR - It sucks to be a guy and have a kid out of wedlock.

Good ol' USA. It's ridiculous. The system here is so flawed. Our "anti-sexism" legislation, meant to prevent discrimination, instead just discriminates against males, rather than females.

Same way with the justice system. Domestic abuse cases against men are almost always won by women, but when it's a case against a woman, the judge will often drop the charges, even if it's a repeated offense.

Point in case: My father was in a DIFFERENT STATE than my mother at the time, mind you. My mom wanted money (for drugs most likely) and my dad refused, so she called the cops and told them that he had assaulted her. Nevermind that he was in a different state at the time. So, when he got back to SC, he was arrested.

My mom, on the other hand, has randomly shown up at least four times throughout my life and attacked my dad, but the case always gets dropped.

I'm sorry that happened. Women really do get off way too easy here. No one cares about single fathers who have to deal with abuse. Apparently they just have to suck it up while the government holds single mothers' hands.
My mom says she was a single mother, but my dad was there for me completely up until I was about 16, then he lost his job and was unable to pay child support anymore, and she's suing for the money even though he works at walmart and lives with his parents now. She apparently has the tougher situation, though, according to her.
I'm sorry, if your child stays with their father half the time and you get large child support checks in the mail every month from a supportive father, you aren't a single mother...you're just a divorced mother. it's just logic. -.-

I'm sorry to hear about your situation as well. That's a shitty situation to be stuck in the middle of. My mom tries to claim that she doesn't have the money to pay my child support, or even just help out with gas when I need to get back to campus from coming home, but she has the money to blow on cartons of cigarettes and more weed than anyone I know other than her could smoke. Your dad sounds like he at least tried, though. Appreciate what you have in both of them, though. I try to appreciate both of my parents, because I've watched both of them lose theirs, and even with my mom being a terrible person, I would hate to have her die.

My dad really doesn't have the money. Lately he's been saving up money to just give to me though, to try to make it up. He basically tries to give me anything extra he makes. It makes me feel bad since he has basically nothing and has no control over his life. It seems to make him feel better to give me something though, because he used to be able to spend money on me. He had a pretty decent job before but it just went down the drain. He's a huge sweetheart and I love him to death. My mom's a great mom too, she's just very, very ignorant sometimes and it makes me mad. She figures that if she doesn't know about it then it doesn't matter, going by the logic of "If I don't hear of it then it isn't important enough to know."
I dunno. I haven't been in school for a year but I still make myself learn things. It seems like she's just given up trying to understand the world. Like it doesn't matter anymore or something. Like there's a point where you know enough to just stop searching for knowledge. Drives me nuts.
My dad's the type of person who still loves to learn things, and I think that's why I connect with him better. I just feel so bad for him, because he works so hard, but my mom can be so mean, and she won't even attempt to understand or empathize with him. She's been a nurse for about a decade now and I think she forgot what it's like to be out of decent work and really not having any control over what happens to you. He's at the mercy of his family right now (they're kinda fucking nuts, especially my grandma) and he basically isn't allowed to have an opinion over there. I just wish she'd at least wait until he has a good job. He's not paying because he literally doesn't have the money. She seems to think it's just because he doesn't want to.

So if we take what was stated in the last paragraph into further detail, the woman will try to state that because they are a girl, they cannot be hurt. If so, they would shout out to this web of moralfags about the situation and thus action will be taken against the man in question. Typically, it's done with an excuse such as rape. As a result and considering if the woman wins the lawsuit, the man will go into a downward spiral because his odds of achieving anything in life would significantly drop, thus ruining his life.

tl;dr: Dumping/slapping your girlfriend may cause the feminists and the white knights to summon Lawsuit in Attack Mode and attack your life points.

Ah yes, I see your point. I haven't see it earlier, mostly because I'm not American, and the concept of all-present law-suits is quite unfamiliar to me. I'm kinda old-fashioned person, which causes me a lot of trouble sometimes, so you can see why my opinion is like this.
But I think that doing something like OP described is a total overkill in such situation. And a person with only basic morals can ruin his/her life with regrets after doing such thing.

So to sum it up - revenge is fine, but not in a way that could affect one's life for years.
