Some people don't understand the concept of really having no friends. It's horrible and in certain circumstances there is nothing you can do about it. I know there's worse things than being a middle class teenager with no friends but I honestly wouldn't wish it upon anyone.

I'm now 2 years out of high school, going to class part-time and working part-time. I live with just my dad since he and my mom split just over a year ago. I was spending all my time either at work, at school, or at home on my computer. Did this for just over a year and a half, and was really starting to feel down. I had even deactivated my Facebook because I just never used it. Finally got fed up with it and decided to send out some messages to some of my friends including one person I had met here on FunnyJunk back when we had a/s/l threads. Afterwards, I deleted my old account (was mattmoshpitt). I only got a few replies back on Facebook from some of my closer friends. And unfortunately, most of them were either out of state now or had their own very busy lives. Then, I got a reply from the one friend I left a message for here on FunnyJunk. She doesn't live too terribly close to me (about an hour away) and scheduling times when we are both available can be a challenge sometimes, but she's now the most important person in my life. It's still hard to believe that a site like FunnyJunk is how we met, but i'm glad we did. I know she's helped me and I can only hope I'm helping her. I can only hope that other people don't get into the same situation I was in, but if they do, to know that someone is always there for you. All you have to do is reach out.

I'm going to repost one of my favorite comments simply because it may strike a chord with someone here:
"It's sad and all but really, why don't you get a friend? Junior high, I sit outside of the building where most of the kids go into before classes start. One week after school year starts, someone invites me in to sit with them, we are still friends now. High school, that friend goes to another school, same story as the beginning of junior high. Sit on the desk in the morning outside of the cafeteria where everyone stays before school starts. Someone sits next to me and says what's up. Throughout high school, all my friends I made over the years as well as my friend in junior high, he transferred, sit outside and talk about the shit we did. We all still go out every weekend. Start college, in a whole different state from my friends, though I did visit on breaks, but can make friends easily now. Notice a kid who sits in the library by himself every morning before classes. I walk up to him and say "Hey man, what class are you in?" I've moved back to my home state but we talk to each other every day with the rest of my friends over a game of Battlefield, League, or Minecraft. Making friends isn't hard, someone just has to put out their hands and say 'Hey.'"
