it really pissed me off how they used the Fahrenheit system in the Harry Potter movie, its set in england yet the movies made by americans so they have to change the system dont they.
I'm reffering to the beginning of one of the later films where its a really hot day and you can hear on the radio "It's 90 degrees today"

The Fahrenheit system is used because it's more exact per whole number. This allows wizards with temperature-sensitive spells to know more precisely what temperature range they have to work with, as, for example, 40-41 C is a greater difference than 40-41 F. Another way of looking at it is ranges: saying a spell works best at 36-45 F looks more favorable than saying it works best at 2.2-7.2 C (direct conversions).

In all honesty, I have no clue as to why they use Fahrenheit. This isn't even a semi-legitimate educated guess, just me spouting nonsense.
