ITT: How overprotective/overbearing are/were your parents?

I wasn't allowed to watch the rugrats because angelica was a bad influcence.
At the age of 17, I got Death Magnetic by Metallica for christmas, and my mom took the album and listened to it to make sure the lyrics weren't too bad, and then allowed me to listen to it.
Even at the age of 20, if I leave the house and take my own car when they're awake, I have to explain where I'm going and who I'm going to be with

My parents dont even qualify as parents...All they did was smoke, drink, take pills, and fight

My foster Parents however...holy crap. I couldn't leave the property without their constant supervision (from 13-17), I wasn't allowed to eat anything I wanted, I wasn't allowed to watch most television shows, or most movies, or play most video games, I couldn't have a tv in my room, and I was mentally abused all throughout Junior High and High School

From Age 11 to Age 17

My mom is actually pretty lenient.

Basically I do what I want, because I've proven myself responsible enough to handle it.

She even respects my privacy, preferring not to use my computer at all whenever possible.

See? I'm not the only one in that boat.

Difference being I actually see my mom a lot.

Though 3 days a week I have the house all to myself while she's working.

I hardly saw my parents as a kid and I could pretty much do anything I wanted. To this very day I can do pretty much anything I want with no complaints as long as it doesn't involve their money or stuff. If it does, they almost make me fill out paperwork. I am the Juan percent.

My parents weren't really... They just wouldn't let me play FPS until I was 16.

I wasn't allowed to drink Mountain Dew, Kool Aid, or any sugar cereal because they had "Food Coloring" in them and my mom said they were bad.

My Mother isn't overprotective with me in the slightest, she trusts me. My father even more so.

Not too overprotective, but still a bit annoying about it
