do you know how to make your eyes drop out of focus? or rather, focus on something else so that the image you see begins to split apart into each eye's view of it?

i'm not quite sure how else to explain it, since as a kid i was so fascinated by it that i practiced until it became second nature...it does usually involve a slight widening of the lids
[they say the best way to learn is by slowly moving your face toward the image, backing away, and repeating]

anyway the image in question is a repeated pattern with very slight differences that create the 'magic image' that can only be seen by a superposition of two of the images

so once you've figured out how to separate an image into two, you hold it long enough for one of the repeated parts to overlap with another one (any other one)....so in this case just try to focus on getting one of those white roses to perfectly overlap with the one next to it

once you get it close enough, your brain takes over and it kind of clicks into place, and if you are able to hold that loss of focus long enough you'll begin to notice the little differences
and...if you're just beginning at this its probably best to keep staring at that same one spot until all the little differences are recognized and eventually the picture starts to form and eventually the full thing comes into view and it's like you're staring into a room with the original repeating image as wallpaper and the 3D image as some scene within the room

this one might be difficult if you've never done it before
