Hey guys, I just got Photoshop CS5 and I wanted to start using it to draw, so any tips on how to start off using it to draw would be great

<--- and heres my first attempt at Altair. I know its not great but thats why I'm here

I prefer to use thicker lines using the brush tool, and then use smaller sizes to create detail, as well as if I decide to draw a figure like that I would make an outline first, define the outline and then add in basic shapes and go over it all in detail and colours.

It seems blury, what you see with alot of PS work is they define the blury lines more with strong heavy lines. maybe do that a little. try and make his head a little taller, and his body thinner, also work on the feet
