thehalfanese (08/07/2012) [-] I only had GIMP for a very short while (and barely used it), but I'm pretty sure it's not all that different from Photoshop, in which case this tutorial might be helpful:

His style might not be quite your thing, but he goes over some basic stuff that is definitely applicable in various situations. Also, if you have a deviantArt account, I highly recommend watching/browsing through the TutorialsClub page. It's all user created tutorials and the categories cover just about everything. And look, there's even a subfolder for GIMP stuff! Can't look through it for you, but hopefully you find something good in there.
