Depends what you like really, if you like action but more serious then try Code Geass, if you like more laid back action series then watch Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann or Soul Eater. If you want to watch a more romantic, school life anime then i suggest Clannad, Kanon (Though a bit supernatural too), Toradora or Ano Hita. Depends what sort of stuff you want to watch really, if you want anything specific just ask the board and we can come up with something :3
