I think you just mean overrated.
Uh, Monogatari can be overrated by a lot of people, and I liked it.
TTGL is annoyingly popular to me though. I seethe when people start talking about how Kamina's death was the saddest thing since infant mortality.

You're logic does sound flawed. I don't think real fans of it call it 2 deep. I certainly don't. I think hipsters are more trying to be Superior to everyone by liking less known things. Not speaking about anything in a specific way.
I mean Evangelion is really popular and it's a multi-billion dollar franchise. It has a ton of merchandise and fan art and it is even popular enough to have a dedicated shop just for it in Tokyo and it's own section in a theme park.
It's probably more mainstream than anything.
I don't know of many anime which have their own shoe line.

I have.. less than positive feelings for the country, so I honestly would've never known NGE's standing there. In my little corner of the world, that's just how things are.
I never thought these things about the real fans, and the same can be said of anything other series in this thread, as a real fan would be well aware of how a series is, positives and faults and wouldn't use the words in speech that cause a series to become annoying (like katawa shoujo and "oh god the feels")
And like you said, it's very mainstream, but it is also flooded with people who have the delusion that it's less known, and that they become more hipsterlike from enjoying it. Hell, no fanbase is truly perfect.

Death Note. Especially after I read Akumetsu and found Akumetsu to essentially be Death Note with a way better MC and plot. Actually...Akumetsu was pretty much better in every single way possible while still telling a very similar story but everyone still gets wet as a waterslide over Death Note.
it's cute, funny in its own way and great at getting my mind off things... i honestly don;t know why people hate on it so hard, you don't hear me complaining about naruto or one piece

I like cute things.
K-on has cute girls.
It's not that difficult to guess why I like it.

i figured the reason why people like K-On! or MLP is because it was probably a joke at first
then people just started to hop on to the band wagon
sure there are probably people out there who legibly likes them
it the same with Inferno Cop, people just hop onto the band wagon

Yeah. I buy allot of Anime episodes from the PSN video store. I brought the entire season of Martian Successor Nadesico on the PSN since I couldn't find any Australian region DVD's for it.
well das pretty cool
but i would rather buy the physical copy of an Animu

You could get a multi-regional DVD player. My friend had a $20 one that had no region coding at all so it works with everything.

The PlayStation 3 can play all regions. I just want to be able to lend it to my friends and have it work on their DVD players.
I see. As I know it, it's also a Blu-ray player and has many JRPG games. I'll have to get one.
What's the pricing like? Standard sale price?
Oh, I should've asked, do you download a copy of the episode over PSN or do you need to access it through PSN?
I download the copy off the PSN and it plays on the PlayStation. It is locked to that PlayStation though.
You can backup the video files, then deactivate video content for that console however and transfer the files to a new console and reactivate with your profile which is simple enough.

So it's a similar system to iTunes I s'pose. I prefer to keep my possessions offline, call it paranoia but if PSN or iTunes ever shuts down, they'll take your stuff with them.
Sony is pretty good about making it's content available offline. They have gone so far as to declare that they won't allow companies make consumers be online to play single player games. Where the next Gen X-box will and allot of PC game developing companies are going to be doing that as well.
Ah, that's good then. At any rate, PS3/PS4 just got bumped up my priorities.
I'm in Australia so it's K. Pricing's OK I guess but I do prefer hard copies.
Or free versions of the soft copies.
