If you're making something with that many frames, then as a gif it will not come out well. You'll start getting a shit ton of noise.

Here's what you need to do, change the amount of frames recorded in fraps to a lower number. Usually what happens is you get duplicates of frames that make a gif bigger than it needs to be.

I'd like to know how to make gifs of recordings myself.

Oh. That's easy. Use a recording software of your choice, and place the clip in a gif making program of your choice. I use Fraps and Ulead.

Yes, with Gap you can make them, but the quality is kinda bad.
