I just started watching "Hellsing". I like it so far, but I have a serious question. Is that blonde, longhaired person, with the cigares, at the start of the first episode, a man or a woman?

Now that I've actually finised the first episode I have 3 more questions.

1. Wouldn't the constant smoking make that guys' voice a bit deeper.
2. Is there any relation between the Hellsing organisation and Van Hellsing?
3. Is there any doubt that Alucard is a legitemate badass?

Woman, yes it would but it is an anime, could be because they are both under the order of the cros (cannot tel for sure), How could you even doubt such a thing? Loyal vampire who is a slave of humans because of honor.
