meh, I guess you're right. I never cried in movies like the Titanic or the Notebook, and I was mostly completely emotionless on everything that people cried watching, but something about Clannad just took all those anxiously waiting tears and forced them out like a trigger on a bomb, it's amazing how much a show can change you

I'm not saying we created it or made it popular. If anything, /anime/ is barely popular compared to the rest of the internet. You don't see /b/ raving about /anime/, so I highly doubt that we could start any trends.

Clannad is a gateway anime of the worst kind. It's a bad series, a clusterfuck of story and characterization that isn't very well done by any aspect, but which attempts to compensate for its weaknesses by adding in excessive shipping faggotry and SADNESS. The normal anon can see this as the shit it is, and may enjoy it, hate it or be indifferent to it, but all the while recognizing that the series itself, regardless of their opinion, is plain bad.
