But it's not related. This isn't the random board, this is the anime board. "Board Culture" like this is just worthless and pushes decent threads to the second page.

If the board is always the same thing with no change, it gets dull after a while. A change of pace like this can be a good thing.

Then it invites other people to have "off-topic" threads, and the board goes to hell in a hurry. It's the same reason so many people give intentionally shitty recommendations, as we don't want recommendation threads here. The people who give out good recommendations actually encourage more people to come here, who then take our recs and leave without ever contributing.

i say if we have 1 offtopic thread a day that would be good, like everyone just posts their off topic threads on the thread istead of making a new one, that way we dont end up like the brony board, but at the same time we can be more of a community

You know just as well as I do that that won't work. If we allow one, people will start posting others and when they get thumbed down, they will say something along the lines of "But then why does that guy get to make a off-topic thread?!" Then all we will here is bitching.
