Does anyone know of any good software for making gifs from video files. I was thinking of using Camtasia but I thought there might be something better out there(preferably something free)

I don't know of any program that can do all this alone (if you want good quality at least)
I use ATube catcher to screen record what I want, then I convert the WMV file to .Gif on this page.

Then I run the gif in ULead Gif Animator (Which I got from Piratebay)

So, once you've converted it to the proper format, you run it in ULead to improve the quality or what?

I always make sure to record just a little more than I need, so I don't accidentally miss out on something.
