How good is WalMart for a job? I've worked at my local Dairy Queen for nearly 2 years now, and I'm just tired of the management, fellow employees and the way things are run in general. A friend of mine went decided to quit and go to WalMart about a month and a half ago, and he says that it's a huge upgrade in pay, hours, and just a job in general. Plus, I'll be graduating here in May, and I'll need a more steady income to help pay for college and look for a place to stay. I really don't want to stay where I am now, I'm one of the most senior people at DQ and I get paid fairly well (about $9 an hour). But the job is just generally frustrating, exhausting, and tedious with the way things are run, and I need a change of pace. Is WalMart a good place to work for an almost graduated 17 year old who wants to move out?

Good for pay and hours, you will end up working with some "interesting" people, and whack job customers. You would probably get more hours, and about the same pay, maybe a bit more
