>be junior in high school, about 6/10; 85% beta, 15% alpha
>have 6/10 sophomore friend who's female with awesome personality
>we're both big in choir and jazz choir at school
>hang out with her at honor choir trip and jazz choir concerts
>also big roles in school play together
>develop crush on her
>text her regularly, mild flirting irl, etc.
>allaccordingtoplan.gif
>realize prom is coming up fairly soon
>ohshitnigger.jpg
>develop genius idea
>am the tenor 2 in a capella group I'm in
>music nerd friend is bass 1 in group
>compose an a capella song for the group (TTBB) with music nerd friend to ask crush to prom
>music nerd friend is also asking a girl to prom with same song
>will perform song in both girls' presence sometime next week
>guaranteed yes from music nerd friend's girl
>somewhat likely yes from crush, but not sure
The only thing I'm worried about is the delivery. Do you think we should do it in front of people (i.e. the school choir of 80+ people)? I want to embarrass her to a certain extent, but I don't want it to backfire and look like a loser if she says no... She's not shy, but she's not really that outgoing either. Also, is there anything creative I could do in addition to this? Like, does anyone have any ideas on what I could do better or differently?
tl;dr: Planning on asking a girl to prom through a song with a vocal quartet I'm in, and I'm not 100% sure she'll say yes. Input, advice, etc. is appreciated.

Do it in front of as many people as you can. She can't say no with so many people, or the people will boo and such, and anyways, a crowd will always make it 1. more memorable 2. sweeter 3. more chance to say yes.
