Make your height a running joke with her. That characteristic will make you stand out. Become a dynamic character or a really close friend to her. Make yourself a part of her life. Then just put it out in the open. I would guess she would give you at least 1 date, if she values the friendship enough to not want to lose you. That is, if she's nice. If she's kinda cold than separate yourself and show interest in other girls that are close to her. Either she gets jealous or you just get the other girl(s). It's a win-win.
