Just found out that I might be moving next year and have to go to another school for my sophomore year of high school. I've started to get extremely depressed, and I wanted some advice. Any advice on if it's fun to go to a new school, does it suck? Please share experiences.

It really isn't that bad, it is a new start, take the things you hated about your social life at your old school and wipe them clear, at my old school I was a lonely nerd with a few good friends, my new school I'm friends with like 20+ people and girls hold conversations with me, it really changed me I used to be depressed but now I'm not.

it's all i nthe way you look at it man, lets say you've had some bad expiriences this year, moving will give yo ua totally fresh start, and ur able to make urself visible the way you want to be seen. nobody knows you, so go out and make good friends. dont worry about it, im sure everything will be fine(:

I've never moved schools before, but since you're doing it while you're still a lower classmen, it probably won't be that bad. You'll have three years to make new friends, so I wouldn't worry too much, especially when you don't even know for sure if you're moving yet.

It's not the meeting new friends and stuff, I think I'll be able to handle that. It's losing all my friends at my current school. I grew up with them and they're like family to me, no matter how douchey or obnoxious they are. I want to graduate with them and go through high school with them. Even as I type this, an ad for a fucking snu - snu preppy private school is just rubbing it in my face.

Not getting to graduate with them is a bummer, but moving to a new school doesn't mean you lose any good friends. Are you moving so far away that you're in a new state or far away city? If so, you can still talk over social networks. I know a kid that was well liked in my high school that moved away just before Junior year. He moved across the country, but still has contact with all his friends over Facebook. He's flying up to see all his friends sometime soon, and they're all excited to see him. It'll be the same way for you if you make an effort to keep in contact with your good friends.

Yeah I know, but I'll miss the antics my friends and I pulled in school, being on the team with all my friends, just all those things that make you really bond with them. I don't think that facebook would keep it the same.

It won't be exactly the same, but you'll find new friends to have antics with, meet new people on this new school's team, and eventually feel just as welcome there as you do at your current school. Remember, you're not losing any friends, just gaining some.
