Okay so I'm actually in need of advice, I was diagnosed with BDD my freshman year of highschool, I've always been fit and have had a lot of fans at school my BDD symptoms and feelings went away for a year or two. But recently I had surgery and I had to take a year off swim team and stay in bed for a month, which resulted in me gaining almost 20 pounds and my BDD got so bad, that I havent gone out with friends, and I try to avoid mirrors at all costs. I'm not looking for people to tell me I'm pretty or begging for sympathy I just want advice on how I can get my life back. Please don't hate, thanks FJ.
Well now it seems all that is stopping you is your small amount of added weight. if you're up to losing the pounds there are always ways to lose weight without leaving the house. Since you enjoyed swimming I am assuming you're a psychical person. So maybe home exercise might help you overcome your current lack of comfortableness.
Well then there is always dieting which can make some feel uncomfortable at first which is why you need to ease it in slowly. For example, take 200-300 less calories daily. Then it will become easier and easier. Make sure to make 20 pounds your goal because you might push yourself too far with BDD.
