I was undergoing a system restore on my computer and then the power went out. I started it up again and even in safe mode it won't go past the black screen with the cursor. Wat do?

If it comes to me having to re-install Windows is there a way to do that without losing the shit on my HDD?

I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. Doesn't this only work with XP?

it's probably fucked.
you could take it to a pc repair place and if anything they might be able to save what's on your hard drive.
