IF you want the best healthcare you pay for it. The more money you have the better healthcare you will get, that's how it is and should be. If I am rich and can afford a Mustang, I shouldn't have to drive a Toyota just because that's all that other people can afford.

i think i saw a discussion about this before somewhere.
Basically you pay for the quality of the service and all that **** , so you pay to get the quality, but i think that's ******** cause i recently heard on the radio that some dude got a cut or something and he went to the doctor so it wound''t get infected and all they did was put neosporen and a band aid on it and they charged him like $2K.

Why Are American Health Care Costs So High?
Don't know if everything he says is true, but it sounds about right.

The problem with this argument is that every single time someone brings up health care it will take 0 seconds for the argument to become us vs. social healthcare countries, and another 0 seconds for people to start citing immense amounts of personal anecdotes.

And no one gives a **** about your personal anecdotes.

You can find instances of treatment that will seemingly support or go against any healthcare system anywhere. I'm pretty sure you can find statistics that will seemingly support or go against any healthcare system too.

Massive government run organizations are actually pretty complex. No one on a random thread wants to put actual effort into research, so we just end up with 4 pages of arguments that aint worth **** .

Ameri/fag who lived in England for 6 months here.

Universal healthcare is a pretty awesome system. I had an American friend who was in a bike accident and had to get stitches. The whole thing was free, even though he was American, and only would have cost him if he had to stay overnight.

There are downsides though that most Americans would find unacceptable. For instance, if you needed to go to a doctor you had to wake up at 6 in the morning and call in to schedule an appointment. By 8:30 the day would be booked and you'd be outta luck. England is great for emergencies, but if you're coming down with something and you want it checked out you might be **** out of luck. These are the "waiting lists" that are talked about so much about universal healthcare. While they are not as bad as Americans make them sound, they are there and a pain in the ass.

Sat in a grad class with Roger Scruton as well as attended a seminar lead by Dr. Irwin, the leading Aristotle scholar of our time. A bunch of us ran into Dawkins several times just riding his bike with a scowl on his face. He's kind of a prick, and I don't just mean that because I'm a Christian. I didn't see her personally but 4 of my friends saw Emma Watson once. Her family home is in Headington, where my house was during my studies. I also saw J.K. Rowling, but only as she was exiting a limo quickly to be whisked away for a lecture she was giving.

On top of that I went to London for the Captain America 2 blue carpet premiere. I got a pics of Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans, Samuel Jackson, and I actually got him to yell at me which was cool.

American healthcare is incredibly flawed and it's quite possibly the biggest drag on american economy.

What I take from this is either you move out of the US to not get ****** so hard by this or you become a doctor so you're at least the one ******* everyone else.

Actually there are some parts of the US where you have to pay a fire company after they respond to a call on your property.
User avatar #77 to #76 - dreamcast (08/14/2014) [-]
I know there are some places in Arizona. Saw a story on the news a while back about it. I guess there are some private fire company's in certain area's instead of volunteer and they charge up the ass if they respond to your call.

You actually do have to pay the Fire Service if you are a commercial company, my work got flooded once and the Fire Service wanted £500 per hour, so they called in a private company to pump the water out
