I don't think you understood the message. There is plenty to read in to here but none of it conveys the message of "flee when the going gets tough". Just think about the amount of feminist nuts who claim they developed ptsd from stupid **** like getting laughed at online.

I got attacked by a pack of pit bulls when i was six. developed ptsd from it. im afraid i'll hurt my dogs someday because anytime i feel their teeth on my face when they lick me i start to loose my **** and get angry easily afterwards. i punched my dog in the face as a reflex when she tried jumping and licking my face. i felt horrible.anyone i try to go to for help just calls me a pussy.

Nothing really to do with PTSD... but fireworks freakin' terrify me. Too loud.

That's ok, they scare my dog too. Not saying you're less than human. Saying you are as good as my dog. She is a pretty good dog.

My great uncle my grandfathers brother duh had PTSD from the war. When the meteor hit Russia in 2013 I freaked out. All I could think about while I was dialing the nursing home was "oh god he has PTSD, and, that noise is going to set him off, he has a heart condition, dear god let him ok". I finally get him on the phone and ask if he is ok and his exact words were, "of course I am? You think I don't know the difference between a bomb strike and a meteor strike? You worry to much and that's why you get premature grey hairs." I could tell he was scared from the slight shake in his voice but he was trying to make me feel better I cried from relief when he told me this.....

please don't read this

I don't have ptsd, but I was actually beaten and I would say tortured by a man.

my hair was pulled, I was bitten until I bled, I was cut with a knife and a razor, I was punched and slapped, I was burned with the ends of cigarettes and sometimes just the actual lighter. Sometimes this would happen when being forced to perform a sexual act.
He told me a thousand times that I am something to be used, to be hated and forgotten. That I am nothing.

I can't talk about this with people I know in the real world, because I'm too afraid of people not taking me seriously or insulting me, saying it never happened and I'm just a stupid feminist. I HATE feminists, because they have made it so my almost a year long torture become something trivial, the abduction and rape I went through as a little girl something to be laughed at and forgotten.

He won over me, even now, because of modern feminists, and I will never forgive them for that.

I'm sorry

(A war veteran moves away from the loud event, casually leans on a pillar and covers her ears in order to hear the other person on the phone)*.

Just because she's wearing a uniform, you're all quick to assume that her covering her ears means she's experiencing psychological trauma. I mean, she's obviously in a relaxed state, leaning on a pillar with crossed legs. If you saw an everyday person in the exact same state, the first thing you would think is "Oh she's on her phone". The only disturbing thing about the whole experience is the creep taking her picture.

PTSD is a terrible thing, I'm not saying people don't get it and I agree with the captions but that's not what this picture is about. Either way, the person taking the picture is either a creep or an insensitive douche.
User avatar #7 to #6 - gammajk ONLINE (08/28/2014) [-]
....or maybe she actually is hiding from a fireworks show and the caption accurately describes the picture.

"but that's not what this picture is about. "
Why would you just assume that?

My father was inna middle East from when I was 6-15

He developed PTSD while there. Whenever we were driving somewhere, if there was a pile of rocks or trash or some **** on the side of the road, he'd freak out because of IED's. Sometimes he would zone out when something around him reminded him of an experience over there, and he'd lose it for a minute yelling **** about not being able to find his rifle.

He told me a lot about what happened over there last year when I turned 18. ******* terrible **** , man.

And these Tumblr cunts think they know what it's like.

When I was a sophomore in high school we had this principal who had served two tours in Iraq, and had come back from his third one in time to start the school year. The seniors that year decided their senior prank would be to fill the halls with thousands of balloons, and after they had filled the halls the teachers started complaining so the seniors had to take care of the balloons. Our brilliant teachers decided the best solution was to have all the seniors go up and down the hall popping each and every balloon. About thirty minutes of balloon popping went by and the principal was nowhere to be found. The teachers finally found him in his office with his desk on its side and his door and the school counselor's door locked. (His office was accessible by going into the counselor's office and walking about ten feet then turning and walking through the principal's door.) He stayed in there and refused to move from under his desk until every single balloon had been dealt with.

He was not very amused

A friend of mine served 2 tours in Afghanistan, a year after he got home he was asked to speak at a Canada day celebration. He was told that fireworks would begin at 9pm. So he spoke at 8, and was walking out to his car by 8:20 so he could go home and avoid them. The fireworks started at 8:30, when he was in the parking lot trying to find his keys. He began having war flashbacks right there in the parking lot. He broke down crying and was completely immobilized for 40 minutes before he was able to drive home.

When tumblr bitches about having PTSD and being "triggered", I hate them. I hate them so much, because they have never had to suffer a real panic attack, they do not have PTSD, they are not being triggered. Being triggered is not "Oh I don't like _____ it makes me uncomfortable", being triggered is "If I experience ______ I will have an actual panic attack and be mentally sent back to that horrible time in my life. I will think I am going to die, I will have trouble breathing, I will feel as though I am truly and physically there again.".

Yeah, what misogynist militants. Only women who have experienced true oppression on the internet deserves the title of PTSD.

I want to hug her, but she might think it's patronizing. I did that to my ex gf while she was having a panic attack and she accused me of that. That was to do with a panic attack and me not (intentionally) being a dick, right?
