Do people these days, instead of simply double-clicking the file to open, actually click the file once, and then move their mouse up to click on the "open" button in Windows Explorer?

****, man.

I think that double click didnt work in the "Open/save Prompt" in Windows 95 , It was implemented later , but a very small percentage never learned , or still can't break the habit

Screw double click, I navigate almost exclusively with my keyboard.

Also, on a side note that probably should have been the main point: This is why I hate the computer competency class in my school. Know what it teaches? Office. It teaches Microsoft Office. That's not computer competency, that is dead-end desk job competency. They should be teaching how to actually use the god damn computer; basic debugging, keyboard shortcuts, how to set up modems and crap, so on. That would actually be computer competency.

Ah. Thanks. It's just that I feel the school system is flawed in some ways; it's supposed to prepare you for life, but that's failed entirely if we don't know how to use one of the most important tools of this era.

to be honest, being able to use office is as huge advantage in my opinion. None of my teachers are able to make a decent document or a presentation. But yes, actually using the computer without raging about simple things is essential as well.

Well, sure, being able to use Office is important, but I feel like it's second to understanding technology in our world. I've heard stories from tech support people; it sounds like the worst possible job, dealing with idiots all day, every day. If people were taught to handle technology better, it'd be much more useful.

My teacher does that it's so annoying, and when shes watching a video on windows media player, she hit's the expand button (in between the X and the minimize to task bar" button, and then she hits the full screen button in the corner.
