The bandage on the arm is called a Soft Cast. This points to him most likely still being admitted to the hospital, but going outside for fresh air.
I'm afraid I'm ignorant on how long a bullet wound would bleed, so I can't say if that makes sense or not. However, there's no reason to have MASSIVE bandages when small ones will do. They change them regularly, especially at the rate he's still losing blood - they have to keep the wound clean.
The wrap on the head, especially if he fell face first, makes sense if he always wears his doe rag. They're changed frequently enough that as long as the patient isn't going to remove his rag in the next 4-10 hours, it likely won't cause any issues.

Just about any problem can technically be solved through the correct application of violence or threatening it, but in many cases the problems that arise may be more numerous or more serious than the original. And it feels like internal organs shut down. There's a half second delay, and then the body just doesn't do anything you tell it to do. And then pain all over, not just the one spot.
I don't think there's anything special about the under ear. The chin is ideal because it gives the longest lever for force transferred to movement of the head (in twisting motions, not our straight shots we were talking about) but really I've seen people KOed from hundreds of different angles. Some are just baffling

Dipping and digging, even to the left for an orthodox (right handed) stance, isn't any more of a risk than any punch with comiitment. The drop like you see is pretty rare, but body shots absolutely drain the cardio out of someone. A good one feels like you're instantly 2 minutes more tired. It's surprising.
Working low also greatly opens up the head. Dig a few body shots and a guy startrs dropping his elbow to protect his side. Then the hook opens up wide after a feint.

Issue is with boxing the gloves are made to cushion the blows so its a lot harder to get KO punches on a body shot. However, due to the structure of the face, it is a lot easier to get KOs.
