Or why we "dial" a number

Or why a mouse is called a mouse

Or why we have "uppercase" and "lowercase" letters

Back in the days of printing presses, printers had to place individual letters on the printing block. These letters were stored in large drawers or cases. By convention, printers would keep the capital letters in the upper case, and the small letters in the lower case.

Not to mention, on the off chance your car ended up in a river, it wouldn't malfunction leaving you trapped in the car.

We still say "shotgun" to call passenger seat which hasn't been relevant since the 1800's when people rode carriages and needed to ride around with a shotgun.

My niece already asked this to my dad...

Well. Kinda. it was more along the lines of "Where is the Window buttons?" "You have to use the handle." "What handle?"

ive seen so many problems with the 'everything electric' cars

once upon a time, if someone elft their window down, honest people could open the door, wind the window up, and lock the car again for the owner
now its all electric, cant do **** to help, stupid people who leave windows open pretty much welcome theives

doors used to be easy to lock, just push the button down, all was good...now alot of cars have retarded electronic locking, so that if the remote doesnt work, you cant lock your car,

worst of all. modern BMW's....battery dies, your entire car is ****** , you cant open it or lock it, and it requires power to pop open the boot to get to the dead battery
and god help you in you lose your key...you have to special order a new one from germany and wait weeks for it to arrive

Seeing how they still make brand new vehicles with manual windows, I'm guessing it will be a while.

i bet some kids dont know what is commonly used as the "save" symbol already.

I still don't. We cranked the windows down, we didn't roll them. I've never seen some sort of roller-ball or cylinder thing for a car window.

Actually you can still get certain cars without the electric windows and locks and things like that.

My mom got a 2014 Jeep Patriot with roll-down windows and standard locks (the ones you have to push down, no button.)

Base model Wranglers still have them if they have doors at all

I actually prefer non-power windows. They cost a fraction of the price to repair and you can always rely on redneck engineering if you're case strapped.

Honestly, I say lower the window and close the window more now but I figure it will be a while till people forget. I still see cars with these occasionally.

I will make an honest guess.
I give this planet 14-15 years before no one knows what "rolling the window down" mans
