When he pushes the handkerchief in his hand the blue one is already in there, and he puts the white one in his sleeve quickly while everyone is distracted with the blue one.
The first tricks are in his jacket, between the two buttons.
At 1:25 he stores the white handkerchief, at 1:50 (right as the camera shows him) he makes the purple appear while conveniently having his hands close to his jacket's magic pocket, and he's already getting the other three for the splitting act.
If he trained more then he could have done it without the noticeable hand movement near his jacket.
And I wouldn't have either if he had taken away focus from the hand when doing switches, but by holding the handkerchiefs there he brought attention instead. Well, he had to have the handkerchiefs there, but I mean the handkerchiefs were the most interesting thing at the time, if he had doves flying around or something else that captured attention then the detail of the hand would just be background noise.
Interesting fact: magician assistants are usually pretty girls in skimpy outfits exactly for this reason, to be a distracting element.
Delivery IS awful, magic is subpar. At 15, there are plenty people who are much funnier, plenty of people who are better at magic. To compliment him is condescending if he wants to stand on a stage where professionals stand.
I thought his humor was funny as, his delivery was imperfect but decent, and his magic was deliberately simple but still entertaining. Plenty of room for improvement but genuinely entertaining to watch. If you just dont like him thats fine, but i found him funny as hell and the audience seemed to as well
Thats why I said if you dont like him thats fine. The point of his act is that he is deadpan and slightly autistic, thats where the humour comes from, the magic is just to give the act context
He has good tricks and some of the stuff he said was pretty funny. I just really despise the whole "im socially awkward" act when he really isn't. It's only funny when you're portraying a character who's supposed to be that way. As a comedian/magician however, you should just be your normal confident self.
He seems like he might just be autistic.
Not like internet autism.
Like actual, he's a cool kid who happens to have a disorder diminishing some social skills. He reminds me of a kid I used to work with, almost the same way of speaking. The kid I worked with knew he was autistic but also knew he was very high functioning compared to the other kids in our special ed, so he could be a little **** sometimes but eh its high school, he was cool.
He's not autistic. The monotone voice is a part of his act. It's a comedy sketch. Also you just said you're special ed, so GL with that. Gif not at all related
