Given that guns have many uses like self defense and healthcare isn't actually free, but rather socialized I fail to see why that would be recommended

1/2 of FJ community: Hmm, lets present concise and clear evidence that shows guns are actually keeping crime and crime related deaths down.

1/4 of FJ community: Well, I respectfully disagree and here is my own evidence as to why I believe another form of action is better.

People need to stop using the term "free healthcare" cause it's not, or it shouldn't be.
True "free healthcare" is doomed to fail.
In europe we pay for our healthcare in our taxes that come of our payroll each month,
but when events do arise, like your father getting cancer (of wich costs run astronomically high) you're covered for everything, then you realise that's what you been payign for your entire life.
I'm not trying to generalize people, but i know that most of the republicans see a big problem in giving up a part of their payroll for "other people", but when you've been through what i have, you happily do so.

I would argue why gun control is a load of **** but idiots in other socialist countries and retards in America are more prominent on websites like this, and I would lose to non-stop bitching and "Why do you need a gun?" questions.

I disagree with even the concept of socialized healthcare. Why should I pay for something I don't use or that other people use many times more than me? I understand that it's nice to think that everyone in the United States is enlightenly self-interested, but there not. It will cause more money to be taken out of paychecks to some paychecks making people have less money. People wont be happy about that. The best way to explain it is in a metaphor I guess. Lets say, we're all legally required to buy grocery insurance so everyone, it costs $300 for everyone and it's taken out of your paychecks over the course of each month. This $300 will allow you to get as many groceries as you want. Who will benefit from that more, the single person or the family with 8 kids? This a great deal with 10 people to feed, but the single man will feel ripped off. As a result, the single man will have less money to spend on other goods because he had to spend that $300 a month on grocery insurance. As a result, he will be tempted, and most likely will, move to an area that does not have this grocery insurance so he can spend the money on luxury goods. It will also lead to grocery stores having less income, just the subsidized part from the government. So, the grocery store owner will most likely fire some workers to keep his money. Or, more than likely, he'll say "Why not just knock the whole ******* thing down and put up a parking garage or an apartment building, so I can get more money?" In the long run, while it seems like we'll be helping the family with 8 kids get food to better their lives, we'll actually be making it harder for them due to income loss from the single person leaving and lose to willingness of people to supply the food which leads down to food being even harder for the family to actually obtain. Now, just apply that logic to health-care to see why i'm against it.
TLDR-- Classical economics > Keynesian economics

Gun control. That's what you guys need. I don't know about who ever reads this comment in particular, but there is a high percentage of Americans who are NOT safe with their guns, and frankly, should have them confiscated.
