Why does this assume a family of four...? Most people who would ever do this are the progressive types, probably most of whom don't even have a desire to have kids, let alone two of them. This should have assumed a family of two or even just one person.

Wow if only we could use math to figure this out.

3 ares is like average countryside house. In the UK. The US has cheaper land again, I'm not sure about averages but its probably much higher.

I just wouldn't have the heart to slaughter the animals though. Have to bulk on milk and eggs which is mostly what I do now anyways.

it's funny how people say we'er overpopulated and whatnot when the whole population of 7 billion people can take up an acre each with their families and they total space would only be half the size of australia. Soooo all you eugenicists out there can calm down. It's our lifestyle that's killing us, but we are all capable of living normal lives if we had this system

Problem with that theory is that a good portion of that isn't suitable for farming like deserts, tundras, the north/south pole. And unlike minecraft the world isn't evenly sectionable so people will get more/less land then they should. On top of all that there would be an extreme drop in available trees and lumber with all the land going towards feeding each family as all land allotted would be designated for food and livestock than lumber. While this wouldn't harm our oxygen it would possibly cause another dustbowl event which (correct me if im mistaken) was instigated a bit by large tracts of trees being felled to make room for farmers which in turned caused wind to rip the land up causing the dust storms as the trees weren't there to slow and break the wind.

You could probably lower the amount of land needed if you constructed greenhouses that were powered by hydroponics or even aeroponics. Not only would you have increased productivity, you'd also have climate-controlled farming and surplus.

This would literally take all of your time, its a great idea but it's your whole life. The reason we are so far advanced now is because we got better at farming and got a food surplus giving us more free time to do **** like think, study, invent etc.
