the salad would be the first thing to spoil, regardless of whether or not you lost power (since losing power after a blizzard just turns the whole house into a fridge)

I don't know what kind of bread you're eating but I'm going to guess its that processed **** . Bread where I am lasts 3 days max because its fresh, and that's way shorter than a salad.

Probably have to factor in drier and colder climates too as mold can't grow without moisture.
Bread here in Canada can last over a week on the counter. When I'm in a damper place like Hong Kong, the bread molded in 3 days.

And not the bread, meat, frozen entrees, or milk? Yeah ok.

Bread lives leaps and bounds longer than frozen foods or milk.

Than frozen food that is good for a year plus, yeah okay guy. Eat some bread after it sits on your counter for a year and tell me it stays good for longer than frozen food.

Bread lasts quite a bit longer than salad.

Not sure whether you've never eaten bread or never eaten salad, but I can certainly take a guess...
