Petty theft is so dumb. Never got why lazy people don't just find a very good job.
#38 to #4 - thecrayzeeman ONLINE (01/12/2016) [-]
FYI baiting doesn't work if it's a valid opinion.

But that may have been your intention all along.
User avatar #90 to #38 - shenro (19 hours ago) [-]
it's not a valid opinion when he says "why don't lazy people find a VERY GOOD job" m8 lazy people can't get a very good job, also if you're lazy it's easier and more rewarding if you just rob someone instead of actually working your ass off for a whole month.
#95 to #90 - thecrayzeeman ONLINE (14 hours ago) [-]
I'm one of the laziest people I know, and I'd rather work than go rob something.

Robbery isn't rewarding at all, actually, way too much hassle for way too little money. Plus potential jail time.
Plus the danger of getting killed by the store clerk/cops.

Yeah, thanks, I'd take a dead end job and drinking myself unconscious every weekend over potentially going to jail and getting shanked in the bathroom. Atleast I'd be killing myself in the way I want to.
User avatar #96 to #95 - shenro (5 hours ago) [-]
ok then, go mug someone instead, take precautions like cover your face and head, target someone weak like a child with an iphone and bam, easy money and no risk of getting killed.
#97 to #96 - thecrayzeeman ONLINE (1 hour ago) [-]
No, the payoff is too small compared to the hassle you need to go through.
User avatar #98 to #97 - shenro (35 minutes ago) [-]
m8 a single day of work is more of a hassle than stealing some kids iphone and selling it.
#99 to #98 - thecrayzeeman ONLINE (33 minutes ago) [-]
Not really. All you do is sit and do the same job every day.

Stealing requires proper planning and proper execution.
User avatar #100 to #99 - shenro (6 minutes ago) [-]
depends on the job, some jobs require physical labour and movement.
#101 to #100 - thecrayzeeman ONLINE (3 minutes ago) [-]
Still less of a hassle than planning theft IMO.
#78 to #4 - anon (21 hours ago) [-]
So really, don't criticize them when you don't consider how lucky you are not to be forced to choose between a starving family and taking money off of a business - which will have that money replaced eventually, while you continue to try and find work and never come up with anything.

Some of us have been trying for years.

Not very good bait
#76 to #4 - anon (21 hours ago) [-]
Many people are reduced to stealing, it's not something every chooses as their first go-to. The job economy is beyond **** right now, we've got more people killing themselves over being completely unable to find work or get government assistance for disabilities/lack of job than we've got job positions opening up.

most shoplifters dont actually have the balls to stab someone, theyre usually bluffing which is why they often run for it as soon as its clear the shopkeeper isnt going to give in to their demands.

most want money and dont want to go to prison for assault or murder
User avatar #63 to #48 - keatontheghostfox (01/12/2016) [-]
Yeah the guy with the knife could have easily stabbed the clerk when he took the sword out,

User avatar #16 - StarDragon ONLINE (01/12/2016) [-]
Seriously though, if the guy with the knife actually wanted to fight, the guy with the sword would be at a disadvantage. The close distance and the very narrow space between rows very severely limits the sword's options, while the same leaves the sword guy in range of just about everything a knife can do.

On the other side of the coin, that sword looks like it might be one of a common brand of a practice sword. If that's true, and its not for show, the guy with the knife was screwed anyway.
User avatar #23 to #16 - norkasthethird (01/12/2016) [-]
perhaps indoors, but they were going for the door anyways, and outside the sword can utilize it's full reach
#49 to #23 - anon (01/12/2016) [-]
they are indoors retard. They were going to the door to leave

"Greetings, I'm trying to burgle you rapidly and without too much commotion. Oh, I see you have drawn a clumsy weapon for the setting we are in. Don't fret honorable store clerk. Let us have a roust outside where you can use your weapon to its full potential and I will be at a drastic disadvantage. Come on, out we go where police and witnesses are a plenty! Tally Ho."
User avatar #50 to #49 - norkasthethird (01/12/2016) [-]
note how the robbers were retreating towards the door
User avatar #27 to #23 - StarDragon ONLINE (01/12/2016) [-]
And i agree, but by that point he was already running away. If there was going to be a fight it would have been right when the guy turned to pick up the sword. There the sword could have easily been jammed.
User avatar #46 to #16 - lapsushominum (01/12/2016) [-]
There's a lot of psychological factors at play, and the thing is the robber probably actually doesn't want to fight. Most robbers don't want to kill because they're desperate enough to rob for money but they're morally opposed or at least they worry if they're caught there's going to be a much larger punishment.
Psychologically in the victim, I can't speak for everyone, but they don't experience these emotions because they feel justified in retaliating to someone who threatened them, so they're willing to fight when they robber might not be.
User avatar #28 to #16 - manofparody (01/12/2016) [-]
Plus, you can control a sword easier than a knife.

However, most robbers will back the hell off the moment they see a retaliation. They're never prepared for resistance and they thought it would be easy.

**** man i'd use a claymore or dragonslayer or some **** to defend a store, nobodies gonna rob you if you got a giant sword on you
#80 to #42 - anon (21 hours ago) [-]
I would. Having trained with various swords, I can tell you swinging a big ******* thing like that around in a store amounts to nothing. Honestly I'd just shoot you, or if you went for it while I was already close, just a quick half-jump over and shove my knife in the side of your neck while you're trying to hoist the blade.

It doesn't take much to end a life. Bigger means slower. Slower means dead.
