I would agree with you... except for the fact that they are constitutionally obligated to get paid. To infringe on that would be like them infringing on your right to free speech. I hate it, if you don't do your job you shouldn't get paid for it, but then again isn't that what half the American work force does anyway?

i know it isn't really like that right now, but theres a point to be made. For example, should we have to pay taxes while the government is shut down? perhaps to some extent... but if our government isn't functioning to the people's standards, then they should have consequences. severe ones. Cutting pay is simply not enough. If we are going to have a congress that stops acting childish, then we need to dish out big boy punishments.

The 27th amendment where it says their compensation cannot be changed in any way over the course of their term. Whether they work or not, their money is constitutionally protected.

Just wiki the 27th amendment.

Exactly If i have to go to work to get paid then why can congress not work and still make more in a month then i do in a year
