Swap the Fish with Chickens, and it's probably a lot closer to what I eat.

I just can't stand the smell of fish.

I grew up in England. I've done that plenty of times.

If I had to pick a fish to eat. I'd choose beer battered cod with Malt vinegar on it.
Lemon juice adds that extra zing as well.

I've had plenty of fresh fish.
My friend Will is an avid fisher, and he took me out deep sea fishing one time.
He caught a Tuna while we were out, and it was the best Tuna steak I've ever had in my life.
That said, I still couldn't be in the room while he was cooking them. I had to go outside because the smell was so pungent.
I just don't like the smell of fish. At all. It turns my stomach to the point of vomiting, regardless of freshness.
Same reason I don't eat Shellfish. I can't stand the smell, and I don't like the salty taste.

Freshwater fish smells better than salt water fish, but they still all turn my stomach.
I dunno what it is about it, it just has a very odd smell to it that my stomach can't handle

Believe me, I've tried many times. I'm very open to new foods, and re-trying old food that I didn't like before.
Lobster, Crab, Shrimp, and most fish I just can't stand to eat.

I love fishing and I love the smell of fresh fish that has been taken out of the water. I don't know why the smell is euphoric to me.

But for the life of me I ate the smell of it when it is being cooked and I despise the taste of it.

I imagine this is just an estimated averaging of worldwide intake. Obviously the intake would be very different depending on geography and culture. (Much less fish consumed per person in continental US compared to countries like Japan, almost no beef in places like India, no pork in middle-eastern countries, etc.)

I'm picky as **** when it comes to fish. The idea of a fish soup just makes me sick. Yet if there was an all you can eat for crumbed fish, like from the fish 'n chips shops, I can tell you now I wouldn't be proud to admit how much fish I could eat.

I eat, Tuna, Salmon, and Cod.

Tuna steaks in a raspberry marinade are fantastic.
Salmon I cook on the grill on a wood plank which I think is Cedar, but I don't remember.
Cod is what English Fish and Chips is made from, and I grew up in England.

Other than that though, I don't eat fish.

I'll occasionally have Tilapia because it's a mild white fish, but again, if it smells like fish, I won't eat it.

I've watched a Samoan dude put back 4 "footlong" subway sandwiches with double meat.
I've also watched my uncle eat a Single, Double, and a Triple from Wendy's in one sitting, then top it off with a large fries and large frosty.

Your thinking of coon-ass cajuns, they live next door, the average Texan diet would be a **** Ton of beef, game meat (predominantly venison) and fish but the majority of this would come from fast food, second from restraunts and third from grocer or personally slaughtered/hunted and dressed.

Lets break that down here

1 Cow on average 1000 lb live weight, yields about 450 lbs of what you'd recognize as a cut of meat
1 Pig yeild can vary from like 40% to like 65% but lets use 50% here, a pig grown to butcher can vary from about 200 to about 400 for some places in italy, but lets say about 280, thats about 140 lbs of recognizable meat.
1 US broiler chicken as of 2015 is 6.2 lbs, and from what i remember about 60% of a chicken is usable meat. so that would be 3.72 lbs
Turkey is about same meat yield but the weight varies, since males are larger lets use those to compare, 11-24 lets call it say... 18 lbs on average? 10.8 lbs of usable meat
Sheep yeild about 50% like pigs, weight is 100-350, lets say 220. so 110 lbs of meat
Fish is no generic a term that im going to temporarily exclude it.

COW: 4950=11x450
PIG: 3780=27x140
CHICKEN: 8924=2400x3.72
TURKEY: 864=80x10.8
SHEEP: 3300=30x110
FISH: (excluded due to vast variability)

4950+3780+8924+640+3300= 21,594 lbs of meat

66.57 is average world life expectancy so 66.57x365 = 24,298.05 Days

So EXCLUDING FISH, they expect the average person to consume about 0.8887 lbs of meat a day.

Take Whatever you want from this, i was just curious.

TOTAL MEAT: 24,788 lbs

AVERAGE A DAY: 1.02 LBS

The post doesn't say the average meat eating American, it is a general world wide statistic albeit the fact it can't be measured accurately enough anyway. There are many countries especially the Middle East and Mediterranean countries where ovine meat is more common than bovine.

For those pros that want to up their score here are some tips, eat smaller animals. Veal, lamb, piglet, quail, not only are baby versions of animals more delicious they tend to be cuter and so have a higher irritation factor for vegans.
Tip 2. You can now buy cricket burgers, these contain about 100 crickets each easy, eat those for ten weeks and you've already beaten the lifetime score!
Tip 3. Seafood. Shrimp, prawns, mussels, oysters. You can easily chow down on ten of these bad boys per meal and if you live near the sea its normally not too expensive.
Maxing out your animal score is easy and that 7000 figure is for chumps who want to eat a bland mix of only "normal" foods.
