If there is one thing I have learned from science fiction, you don't go messing around with the flow of time. It never ends well.

I would bring him a history book, so he could win this time.

Of course ny times readers could kill baby Hitler. They love planned parenthood and killing babies already.

But, what if going back in time and killing baby hitler results in Mr. and Mrs. Hitler adopting another baby and naming it Adolf? That would mean I caused the holocaust.
User avatar #25 to #10 - internetexplain (11/14/2015) [-]
Adolf was 1 out of 11 kids of the Schicklgruber family
of which only 5 survived birth , him being the first aka the Eldest (survivor)

Adolf Schickelgruber later adopted the name of his Father's family - Hitler

does that answer your question?

If youkill hitler, enjoy returning to a world of communism and global slavery, comrade
User avatar #1 - xskullgirlsx (11/13/2015) [-]
"Hitler did nothing wrong" jokes aside I'd be hesitant to do so, because if I were to do so, I'd be hard to cope with the drastically changed world that I would bring myself into

Like the butterfly effect except with a dictator instead of a butterfly

That's where the multiverse theory comes into play.

If you go back in time and kill baby hitler, you create a new timeline.
You return to your own time, knowing that there is a different timeline out there where Hitler doesn't exist and never came to power, but you never get to see the fruition of your exploits.

Think DBZ and Trunks. When he goes back to his time, he's still in the timeline where Goku died, but he's trained enough, and acquired the Z-sword so he can kill the androids in his timeline, even if he can't return to the other timeline where Goku is still alive.

Time travel is ****** up when Multiverse is involved.
User avatar #18 - patheticfallacy (11/14/2015) [-]
Nope, If he died and WWII might not happen then, I might hot be born, cant take that chance

If you're a time traveler and kill baby Hitler, the adult Hitler never committed the atrocities in World War 2. BUT- since he never did any of that stuff, all people will know is that you went back in time just to kill a baby.

no becuase im not a ******* retard, it would be impossible to predict the actual results of your actions, they could be absolutely catastrophic to humanity.

Less jews = win for everyone
User avatar #22 - lech (11/14/2015) [-]
Nah. I wouldn't. I mean, imagine all of the technology we created during that time period.

We learned how to get nitrogen into soil so we can make fertilizer. We learned about computational machines. We learned about nuclear fission. We learned how to get more efficient radar systems.

Without competition to get better and better, we would still be in the dark ages.

I wouldn't. WW2 substantially speeded up our rate of inventing new technologies. Additionally, due to the massive loss of life population levels would've been much higher nowadays had WW2 not happened. In addition, we did learn some valuable lessons social lessons from it.
User avatar #8 - ubercookieboy (11/13/2015) [-]
Why do people always say they would kill Hitler?

Why not manipulate his destiny slightly so he turns out completely different? A way that doesn't involve killing him

For example, mentor him so he wins WW2 instead.

Of course not. Why would I kill someone who did nothing wrong?
User avatar #4 - thesovereigngrave (11/13/2015) [-]
**** no. I'm not ******* with history; nobody has any idea the kind of effects it'd cause.
User avatar #32 - yunablade ONLINE (11/14/2015) [-]
There is no guarantee someone else wouldn't have taken the lead instead of him.

And you be killing a baby.

I would rather shoot him at the point when he was already taking lead of the nazi movement, dressed as captain america and shouting "America, YEAH! " with a machoman voice.
#31 - agronimo (11/14/2015) [-]
I don't know, could I?
#27 - anon (11/14/2015) [-]
I like how 90% of the comments completely ignore that it asks if you COULD, not if you WOULD.

Time Travel exists, but we can only go forward in time, and only one second at a time.
The only correct answer is "no" -- you can't, so you couldn't.
#29 to #27 - anon (11/14/2015) [-]
It literally says ''If you could go back in time ... would you do it?''
