But neuer makes contact with the ball before the Argentinian player and then made contact with the player but neither player makes contact on purpose therefor the ref can't give a penalty
He did call a foul. Just the wrong way. It would spark some controversy to not call anything, but the real digestive end product started because he punished Argentina for it. Like Gary Lineker tweeted: "How dare Higuain put his head in there!"
That shouldn't have been a foul either way, both players had a right to go for the ball and 99 out of 100 times the goalie will win that challenge since he can use his hands and get to the ball first. When he saw Neuer coming for the ball he should have tried to get out of the way. The only possible fouls could have been if Neuer had missed the ball completely or a handball as the ball could have been outside of the box.
Neuer was jumping straight towards the ball, and is already in the air before Higuain is even close to him. Then, chasing after the ball, Higuain runs diagonally into him. It was not a foul at all.
You can say the exact same thing about the Argentinian player who ran straight into a flying German goalie. The keeper can't exactly change direction once he is airborne.
Few would think Neuers action was deliberate, so it wouldn't cause that big of a problem had the referee not called a foul. Punishing Higuain, however, that made the ref look stupid beyond dimensions.
Neuer was playing the ball. Argentinian player ran into Neuer -> Argentinian foul. Why can't people get that once you hit the ball, you are invincible to the rules if someone runs into you. If can't hit the ball and hit a player instead -> you're FOUL
In most cases it is, but reckless play can still be called for a foul. Higuain didn't run into Neuer, he just went forward. It was Neuer coming in from the side. Now most people wouldn't call it reckless as it was just an unfortunate accident, but you can't foul someone for being in the way.
Assloads of commentators, experts, referees, coaches and players have all protested against the call. Those people know far more about football than you ever will.
i dont think the girl with both hands on her face has botox her hands are just slightly pulling her face just like you would if you were tryna make you're eyes look asian
missing the free kick and an obvious header? at least 3 shots should have been goals but he just wasn't there, there was so little offence from argentina.
-Highest pass accuracy
-Most dribbles completed
-Most chances created
-4 goals, 1 assist
-Lifted an average team to the final
-2nd highest conversion rate
Highest pass accuracy and most dribbles doesn't say anything, and those goals were all against mediocre sides like Bosnia, Nigeria, and Iran. While Muller has one more goal, and two more assists.
I think they should've given it to Neuer. I didn't see him making a single mistake the whole world cup, and he functioned as a sweeper as well. In addition his goal kicks and goal throws were immense. He's intense bodyloveing kicking the ball to the opposite teams 16 yard box with crazy accuracy, and his throws are even more accurate, and reach further than the goal.
In my opinion Messi wasn't even the best player on Argentina. Mascherano was way better, more important - and much more of a leader figure.
I agree. Neuer showed exactly why he is the best goalkeeper in the world, and why he's so important for both Bayern and Germany. It's not that he's great at keeping the opposite side from scoring, but he's also good at instigating an attack.
I also agree with this. Argentina's defense carried them to the finale.
I just read that Neuer made two more successful passes than Messi and had 14% better pass accuracy as well. Pretty staggering considering that he's a goalkeeper, and Messi's the key in Argentinas attack.
Messi and the Golden Ball is a joke, but FIFA had to give him a conciliatory reward since he'll never be considered better than Maradona now (unless he wins the next world cup, and finishes second in another one).
It always is, but FIFA is always prone to give the best player award (not at the world cup tho) to players whos more famous and popular rather than those who actually deserve it. I remember when Inter Milan took the treble and Sneijder was a GOD - but Messi still got the player of the year award without winning digestive end product.
Yes, that it s exactly it. It's like fame and name is the only criteria one must have to get these honors. Also Casillas has always ranked very high on top goalkeepers these past years, even though he is at the lowest point in his career. Just two years ago he was ranked fitfth or six best keeper in the world, but that was the season that Mourinho benched him, and used Diego Lopez most part of that season, that ruins the credibility of the entire thing, and that has happened to Ballon d'or and apparently also The WC's Golden Ball.
Yesterday wasn't very different from those stats, save the goals:
- Made many successful backwards passes, so he could have it returned
- Dribbled off many players, invariably lost the ball after a while, making the move useless
- Created many half chances, dribbling off many players and putting the balls wide or just plain losing possession
- He only scored against mediocre teams. Germany is not mediocre. Hence no goals.
- Today just showed how Argentina didn't need him
- Because he tends to dribble his way all the way to the goalkeeper, he rarely took a shot. Compare it to other players who have a crack from 16 meters and have some luck every now and then, instead of playing back and forth til they lose the ball. Conversion gets better, total shots decreased.
Stats really don't mean anything. Considering how he played every match and scored 50% of his goals against Nigeria doesn't constitute him the best player. He only got that award because he made it to the final. Neymar was the true carry in this cup.
He fucÂking sucked in the last match against Germany.
He got so many good chances to score, but his incompetence caused him to fail massively every time.
Not that I wish he did better, I was cheering for Germany, but still.
He had some good runs at the first hour or so, especially when the germans didn't double team him in the first half. I think it might've looked different if di maria could play, seeing as he's more nimble and could position himself better when messi came 10 meters away from the goal time and time again.
He was very anonymous, and he hasn't even scored past the group stages, and all his goals were against minor sides like, Bosnia, Nigeria, and Iran. Robben, Neuer, Mueller, and James have been superior to him.
I don't even think that he has been the best Argentinian at the WC.
Robben was digestive end product vs Mexico, Costa Rica and Argentina. The only game where he was good was vs Spain. Stop riding his dick just becasue he was good vs a digestive end product Spain.
Robben was not sh*it against Costa Rica and Mexico, so no, and even if he was Messi still hasn't been better than him. Messi's sole job is to try and create something from the Argentinian offence, but he did not succeed in that, while Robben works both defensively and offensively.
Robben created nothing offensivly against Costa Rica (Sneijder did everything in the game), Mexico (unless you count the dive) or against Argentina (Vlaar was the only reason the made it to pens and Robben had a sitter but for some reason decided not to shoot). Messi was involved in 7/8 goals that Argentina scored. How is that not creating something for Argentina?
Robben did create much against Costa Rica, Van Persie for some reason just didn't want to score, and he was in constant movement and always hard-working.
The Mexicans also committed another foul on Robben, but it just wasn't called. And he also got the penalty in against Brazil, granted it shouldn't have been one, but a red-card to Silva and a freekick outside the bow.
Yeah, Messi was involved in some goals against Iran and Nigeria. Argentina had a very easy way to the final, and the only worthy opponent they got was The Netherlands - granted they won on a penalty shoot-out.
Easy way? They had Belgium, Holland and Switzerland in the knock out stages. That is not an easy way. Holland's way was always easier after they beat Spain.
Belgium has been one of the major disappointments in the WC, while Costa Rica has been the biggest surprise winning their group against Italy, England, and Uruguay.
Easier after Spain? That was in the group-stage, and Hollands was way tougher than Argentina's. Holland had Chile, Australia, and Spain, while Argentina had Bosnia, Nigeria, and IRAN, and they only barely won Iran.
Switzerland and Belgium were near terrible against Argentina, but Argentina just couldn't bring themselves to put them down.
And Spain wasn't a massive dissapointment? Holland bearly beat Austrailia, Costa Rica (who has players not god enough for teams in tippeligaen (Norwegian league)) you had to take to penalties. Holland couldn't score against them, atleast Argentina won all their games (minus Holland and Germany)
Of course they were a disappointment, but that was in the group stages, Argentina met Belgium in the quarter-finals.
I don't know you say "you", I'm not Dutch. The individual players might play in a not so prestigious leagues, but that doesn't change the fact that they beat Uruguay, England, and Italy, and those players play in some of the best leagues there are, so that is irrelevant.
Yeah, Argentina won almost all their matches, but it always by one goal difference. Their best match was the finale.
My history teacher always says that and then one time this kid said left and my teacher just stared him in the eyes for a solid 5 minutes until he continued the lesson.
I think this digestive end product is pretty intense bodyloveed up. They should concentrate on people celebrating, not on other people's sadness. Wtf guys.
