Never understood why men continue to get married or have kids. The legal system is biased against you. It's designed to screw you over, deny you your rights, and take your money. Frankly just having sex is dangerous.

Feminists used to refuse to get married because they realized they don't profit from it at all. Now the tables have turned, and men need to follow their example. They abandoned the archetype of the wife with a happy family, now men need to give up the lie that we're taught of how all men need to get married and raise a proud family. That archetype doesn't exist any more.

Not everyone has AIDS, doesn't mean I'm having anonymous unprotected sex.

If you really want a family, if the risk is worth it to you, then go ahead. But don't pretend there isn't a risk, and it doesn't make me stupid for keeping my head down and trying to live a fulfilling life without risking being a convicted sex offender or losing half of everything I own just because I trusted the wrong person, or trusted someone who changed.

Why do men continue to get married/have kids? Well, first off, there are men who actually want to be fathers (myself included) and have a woman whom they love and trust enough to want to spend the rest of their life with.

Honestly, not all legal systems are this ******* dumb (giving it all to the woman and all of that), and not all women are such massive assholes. Generalizing is a dangerous thing.

I actually want to get married and have kids sometime in the future.

It's bull **** that I should avoid doing that just because of the high chance that if anything were to go wrong then I'd get the short end of the stick because I'm a man. Some values that were followed religiously back in my parents and their parents' day was sticking by your husband/wife. Being in a marriage actually seemed to mean something back then, nowadays most people could care less and do it just cause.

I understand exactly what you mean. I just like to think of it this way. If you both have jobs and are working then its in both your favors. If you cheat on her then it protects her fortunes and same if she cheats on you then it protects you. And if you really do love each other and don't get a divorce then there is no need to have to use it. I just think a lot of people think in the now instead of what could happen in the future.

My Mrs has stressed that she doesn't want a big wedding and if we are going to splurge on anything it is something for us like America holiday (vacation) We from Manchester UK

**** paying rip off prices to feed all the guests.
A friend had a £16,000 wedding recently in a somewhat nice hotel chain, fed tons of guests, had a dj whatever but it really wasn't anything special - NO WAY was it worth the 16k. Another friend is getting married in april and it looks like a nicer location, less people/food and it's £4-5k.

It really is a "this is 10x more expensive for this but you know... special day etc, oh and here's the "paying money" fee too, **** knows why" industry
