Pretty much. "Wait, it calls me nice, and feeds me much more than if I was still wild? And all I have to do is the same hunting in groups I've been doing, and do the same kind of protecting I've been doing for my own, for the human puppies too?"

There's something else that a lot of people miss.
Y'know what humans have at the end of their upper limbs? Four long, dexterous fingers, with one opposable thumb.
Y'know what is excellent at finding external parasites through fur? Those.
