Just because she isn't a white person's definition of 'princess' doesn't mean she isn't one. Princess just wouldn't be the right word because that's not the word her people would use.
I feel like you have a white superiority complex.

The Native Americans never had anything like a Monarchy. Not even close. As somebody who actually is one, I get the feeling that you're a stupid ************ that doesn't know what they're talking about, and makes everything about race to cover up their raging ignorance. "Chieftains daughter" isn't anything remotely like "princess."

Princess
1. A woman member of a royal family other than the monarch, especially a daughter of a monarch.
2.
a. A woman who is a ruler of a principality.
b. A woman who is a hereditary ruler; a queen.
3. A noblewoman of varying status or rank.
4. The wife of a prince.
5. A woman regarded as having the status or qualities of a princess.

As you can see, there are multiple definitions of 'Princess.' Although the natives didn't have a monarchy, there were still those that held a position of power. Pocahontas wouldn't be a princess of a monarchy, but she would be closer to definition #5. She is beautiful, intelligent, wise, strong willed, determined, and graceful- these were desired qualities of being a princess in all the other movies. Pocahontas is considered a princess because she has a high ranking status among her tribe and she posses all the characteristics of a Disney princess. Mulan was not a princess, Shang was the son of a General not one of Royalty, but because Mulan has a high status and those same qualities, she's included in the line-up.

Well **** are you saying Michelle Obama is a princess as well?

The 5th definition of "princess" that you are going by is not a formal princess.

an example would be:
Calling your daughter a princess because you are proud of her, it has no real demeaning to an actual princess.

Because even the disney princesses are a mix of interpretations. When they should have listed them as two separate categories.

For instance the fact that Snow White is a princess in the literal sense of the word, and Pocahontas is not.

By the way, Pocahontas was an actual person in history... so, yeaaw

I'm aware she was a real person, this is what she looked like. Also, the Disney story isn't very accurate either. Seriously, if you're expecting accuracy and absolute perfection from children's entertainment, then you must be disappointed a lot. They have a whole world of talking cars for ***** sake.

I was talking about the princess thing; which you are complaining about the accuracy or lack there of. It's made for children. They don't care who is a princess and who is not. I was just explaining why Pocahontas is included in the line-up. I even said that she was not a literal princess.

"Pocahontas wouldn't be a princess of a monarchy, but she would be closer to definition #5. She is beautiful, intelligent, wise, strong willed, determined, and graceful- these were desired qualities of being a princess in all the other movies."

I mentioned movies here for instance, and I also stated:

it's not a monarchy. In order to have a princess, you need a king and queen.

You'd never call the governor's daughter a princess.
or the president's.
prime minister's.
not even the emperor's.
or the lord's.
senator's.
etc

you'd never call the governor's/presidents/prime minister/lords/senator daughter a princess because they all have to answer to a higher authority (example: president-other branch of government, mayor-governor, lords- their respective monarch), a chief is the highest [sole] form of authority (by definition a supreme monarch) webster defines a monarch as one who rules over a people with a sole, supreme, and usually hereditary authority so by definition, pocahontas is a princess or as equivalent to one (if equivalent to a princess does not equal a princess then following that logic jasmine is not a princess because her father was a sultan, not a king)

You make a fair point, but in the european sense, she wouldn't quite be considered a princess. I acknowledge that you're technically correct but I don't think that values from her Indian tribe carry any weight in comparison to European customs or that her tribe's society functioned in such a way that she had the equivalent social authority or considerance of a princess in monarchical European society.

by your definition, what is a king? and how did he come into power? i know that monarchy is hereditary, but it had to start somewhere.... second off, again, going by a conservative european view on what a princes is, neither is ariel, cinderella, mulan, jasmine, or belle because they where either married into royalty or their kingdom is not portrayed as european.

tl;dr according to your logic, the only princesses that you would recognize as such is snow white, sleeping beauty and rapunzel ...

No she isnt a princess, not even "of sorts". But this is disney here, they dont give a flying **** on a purple back gorilla.

Aurora is a princess by birth, Kida by birth, Snow by marriage, Ariel by birth(or hatching, idk if merfolk are even mammals in that continuum), Belle by marriage, Cinderella by marriage, Merida by birth, Rapunzel by birth, Jasmine by birth, Tiana by marriage. Melody is by birth

Esmerelda is a gypsy and not of nobility much less royalty. Jane(peter pan) is niether royalty nor nobility. Jane(tarzan) is the wife of a tribal leader at best. Pocahontas is the daughter of a tribal leader at best. Mulan is the daughter of a soldier and only married an officer, military wife at best. Megara married a demigod... better than royalty? i have no clue there

there are dozens and dozens of others from movies, books, kingdom hearts, et'cetera... most arent counted as "official" princesses... hell kida the queen of atlantis aint one cuz it wasnt a ******* musical

yeah i missed alot of them actually... in all actuality disneys criteria for "official" princess qualifications is: A) have a primary role in a Disney animated feature film with a musical number(i.e. they have to sing), B) be human or closely human-like (i.e. Ariel), and C) not appear primarily in a sequel. The actual title of Princess (or equivalent) is not necessary, but certainly helps.
like i said kida isnt an official princess cuz there wasnt a musical number in any of the atlantis films. ******** aint it? also if you REALLY wanna get obscure: lady the dog, Nala the lion, lio the owner of a pet alien, marian the maiden , penny the rat, kiara the lion, minnie the mouse too would be disneys "first" unnoficial "princess" daisy the duck is second in that regards
oh and with recent coorperate buyouts. leila ******* solo from starwars

Lots of Mexicans and certain South Americans refer to themselves as the equivalent of 'American', but use the term 'estadounidenses' for people from the U.S. It's understandable that a lot of people are reluctant to use the term 'American' for U.S. citizens, in my opinion. America isn't a country now either, but the United States of America is. 'America' technically refers to the continents. Did you know that in some languages, people from the U.S. aren't even called Americans exactly for that reason? Besides, the first use of the term 'America' was on a map depicting South America from 1507, so the name itself has very little to do with the U.S.

You have to think outside of the U.S. and outside of English. 'America' doesn't always just refer to the U.S. I mean, even excluding the reluctance to use the term in South America which I posted about a few posts down, I can just take my own country as an example. Living in Sweden, we don't refer to the U.S. as "America". We refer to it as "U.S.A.", always. Saying 'America' here is more old-fashioned, and is usually used to refer to all of North America anyway.

It wasn't until I watched this movie again as an adult that I realized she has huge porn star tits and a round porn star ass.

Disney's Pocahontas has the largest boob size out of all the Disney princesses. After watching the movie I looked it up, and there were many controversial articles about her porn star like figure that were written after the film, including a protests from some native american group.

"porn star body"
porn stars come in all shapes and sizes, as to women and people in general. Why is it such an issue that she has tits? she is a female after all.

Nobody here gives any ***** about which race you're a part of. If yo play the race card, you make an ass out of everybody involved, especially yourself.

compared to females of the time, she was extremely well endowed and she was described as extremely beautiful (beauty back then was fat in our perspective... look at how the italian phrase for royalty (popolo grasso) was during the renaissance , it literally means fat people) .... her body was portrayed as proportionate as all the other disney princesses.... i mean, look at her compared to chel!!!
