**** that's a lot of hours you got ahead of you... but have you heard of the new weapon in MH4U the staff? It's supposed to be both heavy and light and have mobility together with buff depending on stance, or something.
I wished I had some money, I'm still playing MHFU on my PS Vita and have, what, almost 700 hours put into that
I started with Hunting Horns yesterday and I'm about halfway done. I've spent over 1 million zenny on a weapon I don't even use lol.
The bug staff is probably going to be my main weapon in 4U. The staff works by going through an upgrade tree like most weapons and the bug that comes with the staff also has an upgrade tree. The bugs element/status type changes depending on what kind of bug food you feed it Bug food is a quest reward from most quests and you can use the bug to attack certain parts of the monster's body, giving you buffs depending on the area. When all three buffs are active you get a super buff and become faster, stronger, and more durable than you were before.
I've got so many games I want that it's not even funny at this point. I've got to apply for like 15 jobs tomorrow. I've hitting around 550 hours on 3U at the moment. You should invest in a 3DS rather than a WiiU for now, since it's cheaper and has more games. My XL's battery life is something like 8 hours with full brightness on.
I dig the thought of it being smarter with a 3DS, but Denmark is not the place for being a Hunter, no one is playing it here and thus I'd like to be able to go online and find hunters that way, also I would like the graphics to be the best
My situation was the same, until I learned my friend's boyfriend played MH, to which I eventually got her and another of my friend to get a 3DS and we all got MH3U. We've been hunting as a group ever since. Two of them have WiiU's as well.
If that's the case, I'd say to go for the WiiU first then, and then afterwards a 3DS because 4U is likely going to stay a 3DS exclusive since MH4 was before it. Happy Hunting.
The Insect Rod looks neat, but what I'm really looking forward to is the Charge Axe. Basically it's a variation of the Switch Axe, but rather than being a hybrid between A battleaxe and the Greatsword, it's a hybrid between a Battleaxe and the Sword & Shield. Looks ******* awesome
It has an attack where you jump in the air and slam down, utilizing the vertical environment, standard slashing attacks, bug launching attacks, and super buffed attacks. That's all I can think of.
same here,I thought I was the only one....the people I hunted with back in tri really disliked the track, but I've got the thing on my phone.Ceadeus was a pussy I was overequipped when I faced it ,but goddamnit, that athmosphere made it seem like fighting something truly ancient.I remember actually fighting that thing again, just to hear the music.
This always bothers me because X is in with the 3rd party games when Monolith Soft, the developer behind X, was purchased by Nintendo a couple years ago, making it first party.
>I died, lost my gear.
>Tried to go find last character's zombie to get gear back, mega horde.
>Die miserably.
>Previous character zombie now gone, gear gone forever.
>10/10 game, love it to death.
If anyone seriously has doubts about the "stupid gimmicky controller", and what it can do. They need to play this game for like 5 minutes. That's assuming they haven't died in that time already.
I really wish Nintendo advertised this more, or at least the contribution the gamepad makes on this game.
I'm sorry nintendo, but there is a definite number of times you can make sequels to a game, before it gets to the point where the formula evolves into something beyond stale. And this goes for the Sony and Microsoft, but at least with the PS4 and Xbox one, we're seeing games like Destiny, and Dying Light, that actually use next gen technology to it's fullest potential, and uses it in ways never seen before, like in the new Lord of the Rings game, Shadows of Mordor. You just have a console with a retarded controller, that has a 2 hour battery life, that is possibly the most uncomfortable thing I have ever used, all wrapped up in ****** third party support. Honestly, the only reason why you are still around is because of the nostalgia factor.
i agree that Nintendo should make new franchises. its like the same thing for every console. first they release a Mario world, Then a Mario kart, then a Mario party, then a Mario Mario, Mario ******* you in the ass . but other than that i like Nintendo, i hope that they bounce back with something good.
Xbox has Halo, and Sony pretty much has CoD, simply put. Those are really the only two, massive franchises. But the consoles themselves have a massive library of other games. The vast majority of good/decent WiiU games, are the sequels to their iconic IPs, those being Mario, LoZ, Metroid, and so on. It's practically the same ******* games, with slight changes in the formula. What I want to see them do, is bring new stuff to the table. ******* Destiny for the PS4, Xbone, n **** , is one of the first Console oriented MMOs, one of the most massive games ever designed, and has been in the works for a countless number of years. Shadows of Mordor introduces a totally original game system, that fully uses the hardware capabilities of the next gen systems, to deliver one of the most organic video game stories ever designed, so organic, in fact, that everybody who plays it, will have a totally different experience. Dying Light seeks to successfully blend survival horror, with post apocalyptic open world sandbox. Fallout 4, though shrouded in mystery, is promised to be a massive, and epic story, one greater than all of the previous games combined. ******* I don't know, Metal Gear 5, will be one of the first open world, stealth/mercenary/sandbox/creative survival games, something totally revolutionary to the genre. The new systems are revolutionizing the market, and they haven't even been around for a couple month. The WiiU has been out for more than a year, and it has done nothing but make rehashed sequels, and float on it's grand ship Nostalgia. And it pisses me off because I know Nintendo can make good games, they just choose not to.
I haven't heard of that? I have heard the opposite from everyone I know. But there are a few notable exceptions, but these are ones that have been around for years. Games like a 3D, adventure, pokemon game on consoles, or a good, and revolutionary, ******* Castlevenia on the handhelds, because we haven't had one since SoTN. Or, **** if I know, a half way decent Metroid game THAT DOESNT ******* RUIN SAMUS'S CHARACTER, AND MAKES HER A ******* PUSSY ASS BITCH WHO CANT DO ANYTHING BECAUSE SHE IS A ******* WOMAN, AND THUS, IS ******* INCAPABLE OF DOING ANYTHING HERSELF, GOD ******* DAMN IT THAT ******* GAME PISSED ME THE **** OFF.
And when was the last time Nintendo made a new, good, ip? The last one I kind of remember was No more hero's, but I haven't really kept up on the console side of Nintendo in a long time.
About your Metroid rant, they don't do that because Metroid isn't popular in Japan. Never really was. It blew up in western countries, but its reception was always lukewarm in Japan. One of the reasons why SSB4 and whatever comes after it will in all likelihood never get another Metroid character.
Tell me how "retarded" it is then. Only reason people look past this game is because they thought it was going to be something like RE6, where you just blow up zombies with unlimited ammo.
But its a fun as **** game, based on survival. Personally it gives me that Walking Dead feel. The gamepad adds a lot to this game, and shows what the gamepad can do.
Hell even being able to use the gamepad for a menu/map screen is improvement enough. Not pausing everything every 5 mins to look at a map, equip/un-equip something is next-gen to me.
I don't really see how Xbox One and PS4 are very next gen, since the vast majority of games coming out for both of those systems will be on PC as well. I'm being hopeful on MGS5 being on pc, seeing as Konami finally made a pc port of one of its games.
Metal Gear Rising was made by Platinum Games though, not by Kojima Productions (Kojima is a direct subsidiary of Konami, but Platinum Games is a private company) so unfortunately I doubt MGS will be coming to PC, though then again they recently started to make their games available on Xbox so it's always a possibility.
Perhaps, either way, it was a pretty good port all things considered. Konami owns Kojima so it's possible we'll see the MGS series ported to PC eventually, if they think the market is good enough.
But its still an unneeded sequel. Sure there maybe something to it, but that doesn't mean that it warrants a sequel. And it still ends up being the same game, with the same formula, with the same plot, that's just told a different way, but at the same time, ends the same way. Why do these games have to be with their IPs? Why couldn't they take the gameplay aspects, and **** like that, and make it into something besides a LoZ game? The only reason why these games sell so well, is because they float on the nostalgia factor many gamers have from when they were young, and played LoZ. Same thing can be said about Mario. Sure there are a few franchises that have a needless amount of sequels, like AC, CoD, BF, and Halo, but at the same time, they are always bringing something initiative to the field. Assassins Creed really redefined stealth and assassination games, and streamlined it, Call of Duty, up until recently, was able to let you live and breath history, and really brought online multiplayer to the forefront, after Halo introduced it, Battlefield's Chrysis Engine is something of a programming wonder. Sure they really should stop having sequels, but at the same time, they're doing/have done something to revolutionize gaming, and really bring it into the modern age. Nintendo hasn't done that. Their hardware capabilities are poor, their third party support is non existent, good luck getting developers to make games for your console that's even harder to program for than the PS3, Indie developers won't even look at the WiiU, because Nintendo is a bunch of assholes like that, and the games they release are just sequels. Nintendo should honestly stick to handhelds, because that's their own little niche market, they should also start making ones with hardware capabilities that are on par with their competitors.
But then they have to spend more time making a story. Nintendo believes the story doesn't matter. Since the very beginning they design the game based on the gameplay, with the story almost an afterthought. A lot of those games based off of movies probably have excellent stories, but the gameplay is **** so you can't enjoy it. The story is merely a distraction from playing the game (Metroid other m is a good example of this).
He's talking about Nintendo. He never specified home console.
And even if he did, Wind Waker HD was still nominated for GOTY and kicks ass, despite being nearly identical to it's 16 year old version.
He complains about Nintendo re-hashing the same games over and over, but he forgets one thing:
Other developers re-hash their games at least once a year (Wikipedia says there has been 15 Assassin's creed games made from 2007 to 2013) and they have identical gameplay with a wide variety of (and increasingly boring) settings and story lines. Nintendo, on the other hand, only has 1-3 games from each family ( Galaxy 2 being the exception) and while the story is always familiar (Defeat Bowser and save the princess, collect the Triforce and defeat Gannon, etc) the gameplay is always changing. Now there are at least four distinct lines of Mario games (Mario Bros, Mario 3D, Paper Mario, Mario & Luigi). So yes, their games trace back almost 30 years to the original NES. by useroftheLOLZ standard, the Wii should've been dead on arrival due to it's remakes of old games.
Yes he did specify home console, he's talking about the tablet controller in that last sentence.
And pointing out a HD remake of a gamecube game doesn't help your case.
There have been a lot of AC games, but their settings have not been increasingly boring and the only games in the main series that weren't great were Revelations and 3. The recently released AC4 has been well received by everyone and praised for it's change in style, it could even have been its own game. But that is just one game (that is available on Wii U also). At least Ubisoft are still putting out big new IPs like Watch Dogs and The Division, they even took a risk on the Wii U with ZombiU (which bombed). Meanwhile Nintendo play it safe with more mario, more zelda, more pokemon all the while sitting on some IPs that people really want like F-zero and starfox. That's just the games, that's not to mention that they skimped out on the hardware again in favour of focusing on the controller, it worked for the Wii but tablets are nothing new, so now we're left with a console on par with the PS360 in terms of power and the PS360 are being left behind in favour of the PS4/X1, so there goes those few ports that the Wii U could have gotten.
Nintendo have got enough cash in the bank to ride through the Wii U rough patch but the sooner they ditch it and put out a new console, or even just go handheld only, the better.
You say they're not going to and they already have Candy Crush grossed more than any title on the 3DS and its a free to play game. A stupid game to waste time while you're waiting in the doctors office is where the mobile platform already has gone.
I have an Ipad Mini I got on black friday, and a 3DS as well as a Vita because most of my gaming is done on the go. I love my ipad mini, but the best games on ipad I have on my ps3 as well, like XCOM, Walking Dead, Bastion, and The Wolf Among Us, while the few true exclusives to that platform are all either riddled with poor controls (Republique), countless microtransactions (Bloodmasque, Rainbow Unicorn Attack 2), or just not as good as they would be if they were on a normal handheld.
Long story short, I like the Ipad, works good for games where a touch interface works, like MTG or PvZ 2, but for the most part, it just doesn't compare. Maybe from a purely financial standpoint, considering all the ************************ being put into console/pc games, which could be why Sony introduced Sony to go or whatever, the service that lets you play ps3/ps4/psvita games on tablets, computers, and mobiles.
Kiddy-Tendo, Huh?
May I remind you that Nintendo can come up with some pretty DAMN dark **** ?
Giygas for example, Or alot of stuff in the Metroid series as well.
Metroid Prime 1: Corpses of Space Pirates everywhere in the crashed frigate.
Also, Torn bodies of aborted Parasite Queens
Metroid Prime 2: Zombie Federation Troopers
Metroid Prime 3: An entire ship full of corpses (GFS Valhalla).
only reason roy was included was his game was brand new in japan at the time. same with ike. if anything we'll propably get a dude from fire emblem awakening.
this is a reference to last spring. the Wii U had few games in the pipeline, nintendo even chose not to attend e3, but then everything changed when in a nintendo direct [30 minute show that advertises all of nintendo's upcoming titles] super mario 3d world was announced. the initial joy was replaced by lukewarm enthusiasm when the first, seemingly by-the-numbers, gameplay footage was released, but eventually it made way to joy again once later, more inventive stages of the game were shown
Nintendo was doomed when they stopped being able to make new IP's every things either been a HD pack or a senseless sequel. How many times can you trot out Mario and expect it to work. They've been riding a dead horse for 30 goddamn years.
We are obviously waiting for SSB!!!
Plus you have to play any 3DS and Wii LOZ games
And Nintendo Land, Super Mario 3D Land, and Rayman Legends are all Awesome.
And finally, I present to you...
Dokapon Kingdom!!! (on the Wii)
Literally says this on the back. Seriously, play this.
Fun, and you can even play 4P with just one controller!
