This is totally plausible.
My dad would probably do this. This is a definately "Dad" thing for someone to do.
He's a weird breed of alpha as **** and socially autistic that I think makes up your stereotypical blissfully oblivious dad.

He'll find a random ass person in Home Depot to strike up a seemingly normal conversation with and six minutes later he's discussing Brazillian tribes that spend all day going down natural water slides naked, and how his lifelong dream was to make an animated series titled Monkey Foot Ninja.
Around this point, twenty minutes in, you can slowly see the random victim's eyes glaze over as their soul leaves their body from an awkward social situation they can't escape. Meanwhile the Duke of Flies and his entourage feasts upon my fetid corpse in the corner, as I've heard this story literally a hundred times. He's brought it up at least once a month for over eight years. 32 hours of my life consumed by Monkey Foot Ninja.

To be fair a lot of the time the tumblr stories do come off as being really fake, or they try to make themselves part of the joke when they probably weren't in real life. Usually people that make up stories tend to have run-on sentences, try to explain things in too much detail to make it more funny, or put emphasis on things that make the story believable rather than the funny parts, all of which are pretty common for tumblr stories.

Don't know why everyone gets worked up about it tho, internet stories are just this generation's version of fishing stories

Sounds about right.

This is easily the most legitimate uncommon situation I've ever read about on social media.

If I was the man in front, or the husband, I would have done the same thing.

I think this one can be true, but it never went this flawless.
Usually when in these stories the teller says something clever it actually went more like:

v ''You're holding the wrong hands honey.''
> ''You sure?''
< ''H..haha.''

> ''I feel commited to finish this starbucks experience with you now.''
< ''Y..you too.''

I know a guy who would act just like the husband in this story. It's not that hard to believe this happened.

I don't need a wife, I just need to find a married man at a starbucks and offer to buy his frappucino's for him if his wife won't and hold his hand

You'd just wind up married to the guy because it would be to awkward to say you don't love him.
