What, making those will help the blood throughout your body, or just in those spots?
User avatar #62 to #35 - snaxyhunter (03/21/2014) [-]
Mostly just in those spots, though it does affect a bit here and there. The better condition your body is, the less those marks will show. Besides, those marks disappears soon enough (few hours for some, few days for others).

In addition to the health applications, fire-cupping is also done at fetish play parties often. Just another form of sensation play, can actually be a lot of fun.

Well from for the Chinese (I'm Chinese) it's a way to draw up the bad blood (diseased blood due to cold virus and what not) up to the surface of your skin. It can also be used to relieve fevers. It helps the blood get to the surface of the skin where the heat is exchanged. It works but it also does hurt a bit (mild discomfort).

I hope those white things in the first picture are bits of tissue paper, for whatever reason.

...Just looks like giant cysts being popped
User avatar #19 to #17 - Hyoukin (03/20/2014) [-]
They are bits of paper. To get the jars to stick, the small piece of paper is lit on fire and dropped inside. While it's pressed to the skin, the fire consumes the oxygen causing the suction and the fire to go out.

Howdy folks,

I'm studying Traditional Chinese Medicine and this is one of the ways we help people.

Basically it's called cupping and you use a glass cup and a lit cotton ball to create suction to apply the cup. As others have said, it's basically to remove "bad blood" and help circulate cleaner blood throughout your body. It basically stirs up any congestion you may have in your body and helps relax muscles on a physical stand point. In TCM (traditional chinese medicine) it's also as a way to help cure common colds (due to the cold being "stuck" in your body). It's actually enjoyable and pretty relaxing, I do it on my family all the time and I get it done when I'm catching a cold.

There's also Bleeding cupping (as others have mentioned) which is useful for removing inflammation and reduce swelling in certain areas as well.
